    Crazy Question

    Are there any new (2012) 3d blu ray players that aren't Vudu-capable?

    I'm looking to get a 3d blu ray player, but I don't want the expensive TV dongle (that I received as a gift) to become obsolete. I'm perfectly content streaming Vudu movies right to the TV, and I'm reluctant to create a situation where I would no longer need to do that.

    However, if it turns out that Vudu comes with every new 3d blu ray player out there, and that I have no choice but to put my dongle out of a job (that sounded funny), then it would be important for me to purchase a player capable of streaming Vudu 3d content, which my current setup cannot do. So my second question would be, what new 3d blu ray players work with Vudu 3d?

    Vudu's "shop devices" feature is well put-together, and appears to be helpful, but I don't think I can trust it, as some posts I've read claim that their players (not listed as Vudu 3d-capable) are streaming Vudu 3d flawlessly. Moreover, players not listed as being Vudu capable at all clearly do support Vudu according to the specs I read on multiple sites. I'm guessing the device-shopping feature is in need of an update, which would really help me out. I appreciate your input, thanks.

    I looked into this as well and from what i found it seems only the PS3 and the Panasonic BD-220 are the only devices that do Vudu 3D.

    If anyone knows of any others please chime in...

      You've already bought the Vudu dongle. That's in the past, a done deal. I would not recommend buying a particular Bluray player because it doesn't support Vudu. Now if you had 2 Bluray players identical in every way except one didn't support Vudu, and it was $50 cheaper, then yes. But that's not going to happen. You have the luxury of not needing to make sure that the new player supports Vudu. Don't even let it be a consideration. If you don't need your dongle later, you can always sell it on Ebay or Craigslist.
