    Updating Content for 6 hours...

I'm new to Vudu. I set up my box today at 3pm. I set up an account and I plugged in the machine.

I'm getting a message that the Vudu is "Updating Content" and for me to wait. I've been waiting for 6 hours. Did my machine lock up or do I have to wait some more???

I'd love to use my machine but so far I've been unable to....sad

    Please contact VUDU support:

    http://supports.vudu.com/contact.php
    Mon-Fri 8am - 6pm (Pacific Time)
    Sat-Sun 8am -5pm (Pacific Time)

The way to setup a VUDU is usually to power up the box and follow the on screen instructions. After everything is activated it does a database update to make sure your catalog is up to date. The length of time for the update depends on the speed your your Internet connection, its usually really quick but it shouldn't take 6 hours.

Where did you get the box?

I wonder if this was a unit that had been sitting around with the old software and old updating mechanism?

        Hi RealityDirt,

To clarify, you are stuck on the screen where there are movie banners rolling across your screen correct?

Reboot the box. You'll have to go through steps 1-3 of the setup screen again, but the box should pickup where it left off.

Can you post your system ID? It can be found on the underside of the box. It's starts with 0x followed by four characters. I suggest you keep the turned off while you are looking for this number. It's not a good idea to flip the VUDU upside down while it's on.
