Can I choose my "channels" now?

Why can't we have more say in the prepopulated choices that vudu pushes on us? Why can't I click to always have say 3-4 types of movies that I like in a rolling and updating que....why is only vudu that can choose? I imagine this would be easy, but as a simple Mod I wonder if say I always wanted the "best picture winners" channel or other choice to kind of have an additional my vudu channel that could be selected from pre-established vudu account area choices.

Anyway, this plus an increased volume setting on my vudu for all movies would be great. I find myself turning up the volume on vudu and then having to ALWAYS turn it down when I switch to CD, CABLE, or anything else.I thought it was the cable volume setting for a while but its also true with my CD player which has no volume setting.

    my two cents.

The volume is a long-standing complaint. I guess, the recommendations in My Vudu are supposed to be kind of like the custom channel, but your point is valid -- it'd be easier to define a custom channel through preferences on the site.

FWIU, A lot of this revolves around promotional considerations to the studios. I believe that the studios all want their movies to be promoted and they don't want another studio's movies more than theirs. So if a user could choose to have only Disney movies show up on their strip, then Warner Brothers and Sony might get peeved. It may sound stupid but they all want to be promoted.

From a consumer point of view, I agree with you and it would be nice. I could care less if Sony or Warner Brothers get ticked because I choose to only display movies from Universal or Disney. It's my box and I want my choice.

Unfortunately, I think Vudu has some complex and touchy relationships to maintain with the studios and this has an impact on your box.

But what if you can't specify the studios (most people wouldn't do that anyway)? Just stuff like genres, actors, etc. Something more of an improvement to the current system (which pretty much recommends me only Bourne and MI movies now).

Well, I agree. Still, certain studios may want certain movies promoted on the filmstrip pages.

Anyhow, as for the "Movies You Might Like" section in My Vudu, I don't know why that hasn't been improved upon and is still showing "beta." It should be fixed so that it more accurately represents movies that are recommended.

At the very minimum stop recommending the SD versions of the Bourne movies that most of us got for free in HD...

So true, I was thinking just that yesterday. There's gotta be a check in there that remove already rented/owned movies/shows from the list of recommendations.

                Amen.
And some sort of setting that prioritizes HD versions of movies and/or hides the SD versions. I was ticked last night when I rented a movie the other month in SD only to come across it's HD version in a random search last week.
