Netflix has a great new Windows 8 app -- Will Vudu ?

Guys- Netflix just released an awesome Metro app for Windows 8. It does full HD on studio movies. Will Vudu be following this or will Winodws 8 Metro app users be relegated to SD only?

What he said. I just started a Netflix trial (works great on my Surface) and was hoping to be able to use VUDU offline, but no such luck. I emailed support to ask if a Windows RT app would eventually be available, but have not heard back.

So, anyone know if there will be a VUDU app for Windows RT?

If you are looking for more people who would want this, add me! My Surface arrives tomorrow. Although I'd like HDX support, what I'd really like is offline capabilities. HD support and offline support would be awesome!

You can stream movies in Internet Explorer on the Surface RT through the Vudu web site. No app needed.

True, but it's slow, works only in the desktop mode, and you can't download the movies to watch them in a car or plane. A real app can do so much more.

Would love to see a metro app with a sweet interface and downloads enabled too.

The good news is that the Xbox One uses a very similar runtime to W8, RT, and WP8, it would be very easy for Vudu to compile an App for all four. And we know they must be making one for Xbox One.

I can do that at home but on the road I'm using my 5GB limited hotspot. Was very disappointed to find that I could not install Vudu To Go!

Really hoping to see support for Windows 8/RT/Phone/Xbox. Maybe we're in luck and VUDU is developing a common kernel to power all of these. Over the next two months we'll see a string of major updates within the "metro" universe:
                      • Windows 8.1 (and 8.1 RT) will be out on 10/18
                      • New versions of Surface and Surface Pro are due a few days later
                      • Xbox One is scheduled to launch at the end of November
                      • The first batch of Windows Phones with 1080p screens are also expected at the end of November

Seems like this fall would be a good time for VUDU to go all-in. Fingers crossed!
