Can I download movies I've purchased to my PC?

Can I download movies I've purchased to my PC?

If so, can I then view them through any PC-based video player, such as VLC Media Player, GOM Media Player, or any other Media Player?

If I can download the videos / movies to my PC hard drive, what format are they stored in?

If I can download the videos to my PC hard drive, do I still need the VUDU app on my local PC to play them?

If I need the VUDU app on my local PC, can it be installed so that I don't need internet access AFTER I purchase the movies?

As another user asked, what if I am on a business trip, or on an airplane, and want to view my purchased movies. Can I do so, without needing internet access?

Also be aware that the Vudu-To-Go downloads will go in a subdirectory in the %AppData% folder (for me, that is on my small SSD, not my multiple-TB storage drive) and they cannot be moved elsewhere and still remain playable.

if you want to change the directory of the downloads, open up notepad, type in the text below, and save as vudu.bat.
(this will put the files in the current directory)

        set APPDATA=%CD%\AppData\
        run "C:\Program Files (x86)\VUDUToGo\VUDUToGo.exe"

Note - you should put your movie downloads where VUDU cannot locate them.
In the past 2 weeks VUDU has deleted over 220 movies that I had previously downloaded.
I've put in problem reports - and I have spoken with VUDU rep (on the first occurence).
Not sure how to handle all this other than to keep submitting problem reports of which that have not answered. I have not been contacted since the one time I spoke with rep.
I do not have a good solution - maybe this has happened to others and they can share how they have resolved it.

Vudu support finally responded to me with canned responses, that we have never been able to download to a PC which is total bull. I am so mad now, I'd have gone with DVDs still had I realized this.
