Re: The "Incorrect Aspect Ratio" Thread

Hitchcock's "To Catch A Thief" is FULLSCREEN and not HD quality.

"Lolita" also has an incorrect aspect ratio.

Great list, one notable omission is Speed Racer (2008) but I just noticed it is fixed. It must've been done within the last few weeks because as of January, it was 1:85:1 but is now the OAR.

Also, if one does want to watch a movie in fullscreen, they can use the zoom feature of their player. So bottom line, vudu should offer OAR for every film!
Good points all, but I do still run into people that still complain about the bars, even though the tech has advanced the way it has...

It's funny that people who complain about black bars on widescreen movies when viewed on TV don't notice it at the theater. They need to turn all the lights out when they watch a widescreen movie in their home.

            Just added both. Thanks!

Have any of them been updated yet? I don't mean to sound rude, but I would rather not go through all of the titles on the list again just to check if one or two of them have been fixed.

Re: The "Incorrect Aspect Ratio" Thread

It's really a disappointment to see that a thread like this exists. I just joined Vudu because it promises "near blu-ray" streaming video. I'm willing to "Buy" the titles, but will not do so if they are not at least comparable to what I can buy on blu-ray disc. Granted, Vudu has some titles in HDX that haven't been released on Blu-Ray. That's why I've signed up. But if the aspect ratio is wrong, forget about it. I'll take my business elsewhere.

Re: The "Incorrect Aspect Ratio" Thread

Whats dissapointing to me is that since this thread was posted no update on if/when any of these titles have been corrected. I think Vudu is severely under-staffed if something this important that several customers took the time to communicate doesn't get anything more than "thanks we'll look into it" and is never updated/addressed again

We're currently working to provide a fix for all titles with incorrect aspect ratios that have been identified in this thread. Please continue to list any titles with incorrect aspect ratios you come across. I'll respond once the fix has been released

Thank you very much for the update, Dan!

I'll keep looking around the catalog and report any other AR problems that I come across.

Anyone know if the Indiana Jones films are in the correct aspect ratio now?

The Abyss is definitely in the wrong aspect ratio, but I do not think it is available to everyone, only on D2D conversion, but either way looks terrible.

What AR is the Vudu version presented in? I'll add it to the list once I am informed.

Dan hasn't posted the fix release yet, so I would assume that they aren't in the correct AR just yet.

                            I checked two nights ago.

The first two Indiana jones movies are still ZOOMED to full screen.

I asume the VUDU AR for Abyss is zoomed in full screen and not the 235:1 that is on the special edition dvd.

It sounds like the same thing that's on iTunes.
