    Resume Playback

I watch all movies on my PS3 and I noticed after watching a movie to completion, the next time I go in the app it shows "Resume HDX" instead of "Watch HDX" and it always resumes within the final 10 minutes of the movie. It is almost like it is bookmarked. This happens to almost every movie I watch. Anyone else having issues with this?

Yes, and it is really a problem. There should be a "Play from the beginning" option. Last night I attempted to watch a film I'd purchased. I'd previewed a scene in the film earlier in the day to make sure it looked good. When I sat down last night to watch the entire movie I had to "rewind" and start over. Unfortunately doing so introduced a playback artifact (jittery playback) that after about five minutes I had to give up and switch to a movie on Netflix.

Get with it Vudu. You are marketing yourself as "better quality". Based upon my limited experience, you are not there yet. So I'll be very hesitant to order more films from you.

We filed a bug so our QA team can take a look into the issue. I'll keep you guys posted.

Do you remember the movie? (and if it was SD/HD/HDX) Also, what device/app were you using?

Jittery playback (especially if you hadn't seen it do that before) is some kind of bug and not normal; if you let us know more details we can take a look...

The movie was "Victor/Victoria". HDX via the Roku 2XS (wired LAN). I had not seen this before, but am new to VUDU

I believe there have been some reported (but uncommon) issues of this on Roku that are being investigated. It should be fixed by restarting the app/Roki (not that that is ideal, of course!). I'll let our QA know about that movie to see if there is some specific issue on Roku...

I have noticed this same issue on all of my streaming players. I first initially thought that it might have been a firmware issue with Roku but I have run into the same issue on my other streaming players as well. I tried to uninstall/re-install the channel on each player thinking that it might solve the problem but I haven't been successful. Would you have any suggestions?

              Thanks for your time.

I'm still having issues with this. I wish they would just implement a Play from Beginning option like Amazon and Netflix has.

I've been irritated with this since I started with VuDu several years ago. They seem to punish you for daring to not watch a movie straight through in one sitting. Right now I am trying to watch a movie (Baby Mama) that I bought through VuDu years ago. I started to rewatch it a few weeks ago and then stopped about 20 minutes in. It seems the only way to 'start over' is to watch the rest of the movie in FF (including through all the credits). Only then am I given the privilege of watching a movie from the beginning. I am using the embedded VuDu app on a Vizio TV. The same goes for all my other purchased movies.

What really sucks is with movies I have never seen before. I basically have to close my eyes to avoid accidentally catching a glimpse of a spoiler. At this point, I would rather it not even have the ability to resume -- at least then I wouldn't run the risk of seeing something whilst FF'ing that ruined the ending.
