DISNEY Digital Copy Plus and VUDU?

    I'm a bit confused.

Is (DISNEY) Digital Copy Plus a VUDU partner? I understand it's not Ultraviolet compatible but Wonderful Wizard of OZ is on VUDU. I'm lost... What does DCP mean to VUDU subscribers? Why are some Disney movies on VUDU and some are not?

Is there a special APP or site I have to use to watch movies on DCP?

Not sure I understand the question. You watch them on Vudu, the same way you would a UV title. Once you choose to redeem for a Vudu copy it will show up in your Vudu library. It doesn't work the other way, you can't buy a Disney film on Vudu and have it show up on DMR/DCP. Which title are you having trouble with?

Digital Copy Plus should be standard for all new Disney releases/re-releases, this means you have the choice between Amazon Instant or Vudu. I purchased the re-release Blu-ray of Peter Pan expecting DCP, but it is too old of a release. You can redeem your eligible titles through DMR and then click the 'Get Movie' button, where you should be presented with the option, or you can redeem them directly at the address listed on the insert.

Can you buy the DCP online or does it just come with a DVD?

There are many Disney owned movies I would like, Tombstone (Touchstone) being top of the list.

Why Disney and Apple have to be a pain in the *** is beyond me. Just UV the darn movies!

No, it is only included with the purchase of physical media. I agree there are many I'd like to own digitally, unfortunately, I already own them on disc and don't see myslef spending the $$ to buy them again.

Maybe Disney, Apple & the WWE can merge and make a watered down version of UV for the kiddies, called G rated plus digital.

Digital Copy Plus is just a way to get a vudu copy free with your purchase of the blu-ray. It's the same as if you had bought the movie directly from vudu electronically. I don't buy Disney movies at all anymore, and I won't until they make their movies UltraViolet. Studio's choose which movies to make available EST, so some may be available, but not all. It's the same with other studio's as well.

I do like that DISNEY offers 2 movies Iron Man 3 and Wonderful world of Oz as a 2D and 3D bundle. I hope more studios do this and I hope past 3D movies will be bundled like this for a small fee. I really wanted Nemo 3D but settled with 2D so everyone in the house was happy.

I'm pretty new to VUDU but from what I have been able to tell, Ultraviolet has kinda become the last man standing for standardized cloud storage, as the Disney service and to a lesser degree WBs service bothseem to have inactive programs now. If you WERE on them you still have access to their libraries, but from this point forward new titles appear to be using UV or iTunes options. Disney's OZ had a code that was valid on either or. once you whent to their webpage, you either redeemed it on itunes or redeemed it on Ultraviolet. Once redeemed it only worked (For me) on the one I chose. So I assume its the same for everyone from this point forward.

In my opinion this is a good sign for VUDU service as hopefully WB and Disney will embrace this service with new releases as they want to sell in WalMart and Walmart appears to be the preferred Point of Sale, since I cant seem to change payment info on my account from the walmart option after I linked it.

Someone in North Carolina has corrupted you.

iTunes and Amazon are still major players for many out there, but Ultraviolet is growing fast.

My Copy of Iron Man 3 came in the mail today (from Amazon). I got the BR + DVD + Digital bundle. I can confirm that the code allows you choose where you want to be able redeem your movie (including Vudu)

Here's a little bit of interesting info.

This is the copy that came from doing the Pre-order from Walmart

Notice the Blue little sticker on the out side.

For the record, Apple suffers from delusions of grandeur.

Their release of iOS 7 FUBAR is a desperate attempt to regain mojo. Their global cell phone foot print has dropped from 16% to 13% in one year. Android owns 86%.

Although iTunes is the leader, this is simply due to their inertia from MP3 success of a bygone era. They are not primed for EST of movie industry content since their product offering requires a set-top-box made by them to playback onto a TV.

M-Go, Vudu, Target Ticket, CinemaNow all are right on the TV or via a Roku/PS3/XBox. Far more ubiquitous then the market who has an AppleTV set-top-box connected to every TV in their house.

I will concede that if Amazon joins DECE, it may well end up being a game changer for Vudu. Amazon too is right on the TV or Roku/PS3/XBox.

Just another thought on Amazon....As you may be aware, Amazon has given me free digital copies of almost every music CD I've ever purchased from them. In October, they are going to do something similar with all the books I've bought (some titles will be free digital copies, some will be available for 1 or 2 dollars). What if they do the same thing with all the DVDs/Blu-rays I've purchased over the years? In one shot, my Amazon collection will be bigger than my Vudu collection. I'm not saying they're going to do that, I just don't know. But THAT would be a real game changer for Vudu, and possibly for DECE.
