    Buffering issues....download options?

I've been running Vudu off LG blu ray players. The blu ray players access the internet wirelessly. Most of the time my movies stream ok, but sometimes there will be buffering issues that make watching a movie impossible. There are three rooms in my house set up with blu rays and we use them all, and it's not practical to hard wire the blu ray players to the router. I know that could potentially help with the buffering issues, but like I said, that's not really an option.

I was wondering what my options were as far as downloading my movies from Vudu. I don't have a Playstation 3, but my understanding is that you can download the movies to the PS3 hard drive and watch from there, correct? Are there other options out there other than the PS3 for doing this? I tried hooking up an external hard drive to my blu ray players, but I still did not have the option of downloading from Vudu. I was just wondering what other options there were out there.

Yes, with the VUDU PS3 app you can download the movies and play them back later. You have to keep the application open to download.

If you think that the wireless in your home may be the issue, you could try getting a Ethernet power-line adapter.

Other options include a Western Digital LiveHub or a small HTPC/Book-sized PC running VuduToGo. I use the PS3, only down side is, it is louder than most bluray players and other set-top devices.

I would unplug or reset the device first. I have Ruku and I noticed when I start getting buffering errors, unplugging the RUKU and plugging it back in clears it right up. So try unplugging the device and let it reset.

I used to have all sorts of buffering issues before I upgraded my modem from DOCSIS 2.0 to a 3.0 version.

I bought the Motorola SurfBoard (don't remember the exact model) and it has improved things dramatically.

This is with Comcast internet service.

Are there any other current blu-ray players that have a hard drive to accommodate "download and watch later" option? I have an old Vudu set top box that I've used a few times but instead of moving that set top box to another TV in the house, I'd rather get a blu-ray player that supported the download and watch later option. Streaming just isn't a good option of for me at the moment because my internet speeds vary so much.
