NO SOUND NO SOUND NO SOUND NO SOUND
Please help me here ... I am new to VUDU ... registered yesterday, Feb 14, Valentines day) so the wife and I could watch and relax under the covers with some new movies on date night.
(I had the candles, hot waxx, massage table prepared, two sets of hot rocks and creams in crock pot and some of the sexiest date night movies picked out a beautiful lady could watch!) The dinner table was set with flare for a quick, healthy course of sweet honey ham with glistening brown rice tosses in garlic, rosemary, onions, and other spices, topped off with a bottle of French Champagne.
I set up the VUDU account with a $5.00 gift card, then added my credit card (since there was no option to watch a "free" movie regardless of the cost, without adding a credit card) ((SCAM ALERT SCAM ALERT)). Anyway .. While wife was out preparing dinner and hiding valentine gifts, I get VUDU set up with movies picked out to watch after we enjoy our Valentine dinner she prepared.
I stream from my router and wireless wi-fi directly to my Roku (which houses among other things, VUDU). Distance is about 20 feet, I been running this setup for over a year with no problems, Speed test and VUDU test confirms 10321mbps streaming.
No problem setting things up, watched a couple trailers (sound worked with trailers), ran a speed test ...test showed 10321mbps so I have more than enough streamer tubes to watch HDX ~ HD ~ or SD.
Before logging in to VUDU, I had watched the opympics a few hours, no sound problems, watched various channels shows from RUKU, no sound or other problems.
We settled on the movie "Fast Furious 6" played the trailer and liked it. When trailer finished, we returned to watch the entire movie in HD. The Movie began and through about 5 minutes, there was NO SOUND. I tried everything I could and still NO SOUND from the movie!
My Setup: My roku 2XD streams from my wifi about 20 feet away directly hardwired to the new HD TV. We view netflix, pandora, weather, amazon and many others over a year now with no issues.
I turned everything off and checked sound at TV, sound at 5-1 sound bar, all connections and fittings. Nothing was amiss. I turned everything back on. TV works with sound. Regular TV movies and shows work with sound. Speakers work with sound. Roku plays netflix with sound. Logged in to VUDU, went back to the movie we waanted to watch "Fast Furious 6" ~~ great picture, NO SOUND.
OH, so now we try another movie ~~~ VUDU took over $5 from my credit card this time (did not credit any from the first movies I was unable to watch). This movie began playing .. NO SOUND AGAIN. Is this a VUDU ISSUE/PROBLEM?
No one here could figure the problem out. At least NETFLIX has a PHONE NUMBER where you can get a representative on the line in just a few minutes 24/7 and get an issue like this taken care of .... all VUDU issues (that I can find) is either send an email (which I did 12 hours ago and still no response), or come to the forums seeking help.
PLEASE HELP or give me some enlightened INPUT ..... or a VUDU phone number ! ! ! !
NEEDLESS TO SAY ..... my wife was DISAPPOINTED because she did not get to watch any new movies she hopped for and myself ..... (1) lost the $5 on the figt card and (2) my credit card has been charged about $6 and we have yet to watch a movie. FLUSTERATING .................
