Re: New feature request / Wishlist

-Organization/sorting of the list of content in the archive/delete menu

I was going through a couple TV series today to archive episodes (I finally got the 'please get rid of some stuff' message) and everything seemed to be in a completely random order. It would have been a lot easier if they'd been sorted by season and episode.

Also, after archiving each one, it stuttered. The cursor hangs on the selected title for a moment, then skips back up to one of the first titles listed. Kinda like refreshing a page in a browser when you've scrolled halfway down. Is there any way to fix that?

Not completely random - just completely useless.

        Hi all....

I love the product so far and have been recommending it to anyone within earshot. There have been a few minor glitches so far but nothing too bad.

The one thing I would love to see added is a more specific search function as it relates to new movies. As it stands now, you need to scroll through the entire "new to Vudu" sections to see if anything has been added wether it's "new to rent", "new to buy" or all inclusive. I would love to see an option added where you can more easily identify what's been added weekly or even daily as well as a list of titles that may have just been given the green light for a rental vs. purchase option. I find it to be somewhat difficult to keep up with all the various changes that occur due to licensing issues, etc. and it would be very useful if VUDU could provide more specific options on the box that let you know what has "changed" in the library on an ongoing basis.

Anyway, that's just my two cents.....otherwise a very satisfied customer!!

I feel exactly the same way. I've been just too lazy to describe what I'd like to see so completely. Thanks!

Or work on better licensing so stuff doesn't disappear!

It would be nice to have a TTL meter associated with the titles that one has rented, but that one has not yet watched. Also, a TTL meter for titles in the catalog whose rent or buy options are going to be removed in a not-too-distant future.

You've lost me (and most likely everybody else here) - what the heck do you mean by a 'TTL meter'? A google search for this did not reveal an obvious answer.

                  TTL= Time To Live

Re: New feature request / Wishlist

When you rent titles and don't watch them "now" you get a TTL indicator on the Vudu home screen indicating the title that will expire the soonest for one, and sometimes two titles. After you watch the movie the TTL on the home screen will show how much time is left to watch the about to expire movie.

This is what I was taught in school for TTL:

I thought the exact same thing! I was going to make a joke about the Vudu electronics being mostly CMOS but it hit the mental joke filter before I could type.

Has nobody noticed that the Vudu already does this TTL function?

After you rent a movie, and before you watch it, you are shown the TTL for starting to watch the movie.

After you start watching a movie, you are shown the TTL allowed to finish viewing.

After your viewing window expires, you are shown the TTL for extended rental option at a reduced rate (when available).

When you click on a title in the catalog and select "rent", you are advised whether the view window is 30 days as usual, or if the TTL viewing window will expire sooner. You are shown this on the rental transaction confirmation screen BEFORE you approve the payment.

The only thing missing is a function that would let you quickly see this information via a "sort" (i.e. show me movies that are coming off catalog in the next 30 days), it is a hunt and peck operation at this point, but the TTL information is there to be found for every title.

I'd Like to see a feature to Preorder an upcoming rental and maybe save .50 to a buck, that would maybe spark a few additional rentals someone would'nt ordinarily do...

Preorders would be useful to get the HDX downloading overnight so it's watchable on the day of release without having worry about manually queuing it up. Not sure why you think that would allow for discounting of the rental price however...

Anyway, now that I think about it, queuing up new releases might be a good way to ease the network load. The title would be available everywhere at the same point (12.00 west coast time, I believe) so you'd have a lot of boxes with other wise empty download queues grabbing data at that point. This allows Vudu to effectively simulcast the file data and immediately seed a lot of boxes (rather than having people queue up the new stuff at random times during the first release day and have the same data bounce back and forth). Also it mean more data being piped in the AM hours (off peak time) which might be nice olive branch for the ISPs.

I'm not sure if this would help at all given the P2P architecture but either way, it's an often requested feature.
