    Flixster

I have seen people mentioning linking accounts like flixster to their VUDU acct. Is their an advantage to have both? Are some movies available on one that are not on another? Any other sites? Thanks

We link our Vudu, M-Go, Flixster, CinemaNow, and Target Ticket accounts to our UltraViolet account. This is so we can have our digital locker (on the UV website) automatically synced and all our UV titles available on each of the UV retailer sites. If you redeem an UV code on Flixster and buy a UV movie on M-Go, both of these movies will be available to you for streaming on Vudu and all other UV retailers who have the movie.

Thanks for the response. I gues my question is why do you need all theses sites. Isn't everything on VUDU? Or is there some advantages at other sites? Thanks

The ONLY site you can link (and should link) to Vudu is UltraViolet (UVVU.com). This is your digital locker that holds all your UltraViolet titles.

Why link other sites (i.e. Flixster) to UVVU? I have two reasons for this:

        (1) Because sometimes you can find UV titles on other sites to purchase at a better price.
        (2) It's also nice to have a backup. Heaven forbid, but what if Vudu's site was down and you wanted to watch one of your movies? If you have other retailers linked to your UltraViolet account then all your movies will be available on those sites as well.

What Luz said is spot-on. Also, not every provider (Vudu, Flixster, M-go, etc.) has a player app on every device, so if somehow you have an unsupported device, you may be able to watch your content using an alternate provider.

Also, sometimes but not very often Vudu doesn't have a title on HD or HDX (such as The Lookout, Wild Things, Eraser, etc.) that you can purchase and watch elsewhere. Once Vudu gets the HD version, it will show up on your Vudu title list.

So maybe I have it wrong....Its not linking account to VUDU its linking all different account to a UV acct and being able to watch them across different apps (VUDU, flixster, etc...). So I need to open a UV acct outside of my VUDU and other accts? Is that acct at https://uvvu.com/???

Correct. Your UV account is the center. That's where all of your licenses are.

It is the responsibility of the providers (Vudu, Flix, etc.) to pull those licenses and match them to content in their systems.

Also, know that only UV enabled titles will transfer between services. Other movies purchased or redeemed through Vudu will not be shared across providers (this most notoriously applies to Disney movies redeemed using Vudu).

                        Re: Flixster

If you have a vudu account, you probably already have a UV account, because it usually creates one for you when you sign up. If you have any UV movies in your account, then there must be a UV account or the movies won't play.

Ok thanks. I checked and I do have a UV account. I opened a target ticket account and got 10 free movies. All accounts are now linked together. Any other sites offer free movies?
