    BBC Ultraviolet

The BBC site lists "Africa", "Wonders of Life", & "Earthflight" (among others) as series that are Ultraviolet.

However, doing an outright purchase of those titles on Vudu does not add the titles to the UV library.

    Anyone know why?

They are only UV in the UK, so only if you have a flixster UK account.

My copy of "Africa" (US version) came with a UV redemption code, and it's in my UV library on Flixster but not on VUDU.

My guess is you now have it in Vudu as of this morning.

Balance & History says they were added sometime yesterday, yes. However, it's not showing up in My TV, and when I look at it from doing a search, it says I don't own any of the episodes.

"Africa" was in my account on 9/1 and 9/2 (and it still shows in my Balance & History), but it is no longer in my account today (9/3).

Mod - can we get some help here?

...just FYI, the season I purchased on Vudu still shows in my UVVU library.

Not sure why the ones that were added from UVVU to Vudu are no longer there. Mod will need answer.

Strange - I looked at my TV collection, and Africa is there (finally)! However, it shows that I only own Episodes 3-6 (which are UV), but do not own Episodes 1 or 2 (which do not show as UV). I bought the disc and redeemed the code sheet probably two years ago, but it never showed up in my Vudu collection until I looked just now (and Vudu had told me that it wouldn't because they don't have the UV rights to Africa).

So why are only 4 of the 6 episodes UV-enabled?

Not sure that is the case. In my situation, I purchased the whole season from Vudu. All episodes (1-6) show on other UVVU providers since 9/2. This tells me all episodes are UV and have entries in the DECE systems, otherwise they wouldn't all be there.

                    Re: BBC Ultraviolet

There was some confusion with this show's UV status that caused it to become UV enabled for a short time. This show is not to be UV enabled.

So there must be an exclusive partnership with BBC titles for flixster, kinda defeats the purpose of UV but Game of Thrones came around. wait and see I guess

                        Re: BBC Ultraviolet

The titles purchased in the United States do not carry the same UltraViolet license as the ones purchased in the UK. Those would be viewable on any UV provider that has the titles. BBC home video were early adopters of UV and early members of DECE.

In this case, if you have titles purchased in the United States, it is from a different BBC distribution channel.

It is my belief at some point the ones purchased in the United States will become UV titles, which is why when Africa suddenly appeared, I thought it had happened. The mod says otherwise though. Perhaps sometime soon.
