    Re: "Share My Movies"

Ok, just tried sharing my account with a fellow friend and vice versa. I clicked on accept the invite then a notice pops up and states "If you continue, your VUDU account will be unlinked from your current UltraViolet Library. You can link back to your existing UltraViolet Library. However, UltraViolet rules limit unlinking/re-linking to the same Library to twice a year."

    "Decline sharing invitation or Continue"

Huh? I thought I could see his library by selecting his name under My Movies. Guess not?

    So I pressed Continue

Then I see "Sorry this UltraViolet username already exists. Please try a new one"

Vudu Support need some help here. So can we see multiple libraries on our Vudu account or just one at a time and have to relink if we want to watch on own library?

Ok, figured it out. I created a new user name and now I can see my friends library mix in with my library. Very cool!!

      Re: "Share My Movies"

So it sounds like it won't merge accounts, but it will unlink the account of the person who receives the sharing invitation. I think this is designed to share movies with new users, who don't already have vudu/UV accounts. So, I could share my library with a new user, but I wouldn't want to join another member's library, because then I would lose access to my own library, correct?

I agree. I do think it is a way for all the Vudu users to click a few mouse buttons and send invites to all their friends who do not have Vudu yet.

The Variety article suggest too that it is a clever way to bolster membership. I think it will be very successful.

You can only have one UltraViolet Library linked to a VUDU account at any time.
When accepting an invitation and joining the UltraViolet Library of another user, any UltraViolet Library currently linked to the VUDU account will be unlinked.

Is there still a limit of 3 streams at one time?

              Hey Daniel,

Just curious. Does the user(s) that we invite via Vudu have to have their own UV account set up previous to inviting them?

              Thanks for any clarifications.

                  No problem at all, Walter.

Thanks for the confirmation. I appreciate it.

let me translate quickly with an example.

I fork over twenty hard earned dollars for "The Lego Movie" come May twentieth. When I do, we can watch on three TVs in our home the new purchase all at once. Say we are all mad at each other, but all want to see the new movie so we all retreat into our respective rooms and start streaming the movie.

At the same time, my five friends and family who all now have this new title in their library's too can do likewise, meaning there could be 18 TVs watching the same movie at the same time, from a single purchase ( 3 x 6 = 18 ).

Thanks, so its 3 streams per Vudu account and not 3 streams per Ultraviolet account.

The FAQ was not clear to me:
You are able to have 3 simultaneous streams on VUDU from your UltraViolet account.

This answer is a little unsettling:

Will people I invite to my UltraViolet Library lose their movies if they join my Library?

No. They keep their movies and see your UltraViolet titles as well.
If the invited person has UltraViolet titles from another service listed in VUDU, he will no longer see them in his VUDU account-but they still exist in his own UltraViolet Library.

Does this mean they will need to access multiple services to access the movies they purchased? That limits the appeal if they have purchased some movies thru other Ultraviolet services. What about if they redeemed at the studio?

I dunno. Makes sense to me. A Vudu account can only be linked to one UV Account at a time. If you are linked to your own UV Account, then obviously you can see your movies. If you join someone else's library, your own UV Account will no longer be linked to Vudu, thus those films will no longer be visible in Vudu, because your Vudu is now linked to another account.
