Your software is "current", your database is still out of date (should be in the 1400's I believe). FYI, your Client ID is not the same as your serial number. It looks like 0x12AB, and can be found in the Info screen, or on the bottom of your box.

You probably need to wait all day today to get caught up on the database. The good news is, that once your system gets caught up, it stays current as long as your internet connection is available.

Steveybaby, I'm having the same problem. Getting the current database. I was told on the phone today by Vudu that if you turn the power off it does download quicker.

It would have been nice to know when these are first setup new that it will be days before they are totally ready to go and you should just turn the power off and walk away. I'm not going to look at mine again for 48 hours. I really hate spending $400 for something I cant "really" use for 3 days.

You can use it as is. It just won't be updating when you are using it. Powering off won't make it download quicker. All that button does is turn the video off. Any time you mess with the UI, the downloads stop as the box gives the least priority to updates and the highest to user experience.

This first long wait is the one and only. Subsequent database updates go much quicker.

        Patience...

I am brand new as of last night. So far this is pretty cool. How long does it take for the full database to come down? The reason I ask is a lot of the movies on http://www.vudu.com/product_movies.html don't show up as available to me when I either browse for them or directly search for them.

          Thanks,
          Al

Can take 2~3 days, even longer if you are actively watching movies with the system.

Based on my experience and posts here, it takes about 24-48 hours. They are also not going to appear all at the same time. For me, I think two first Bourne movies appeared overnight but the third title was still showing as "Coming Soon" until the next time I checked.

You'll be able to own the first two and download the third.

We are working on getting a mechanism in place to regularly update the public with the latest versions. The moderators can't easily do this because as part o the beta team, we are generally running 1 to 2 versions ahead of everyone else on everything.

After the first of the year, we should be able to get you guys regular updates on the firmware and database numbers.

My Bourne III (forget the actual name) says download will take approx 4 hours. Is this typical of a movie I want to buy or rent from Vudu?

I believe it is for the current software version and HD. My understanding is that the software update that will allow for instant playback of HD is coming soon.

The Bourne Ultimatum is NOT set up for instant HD.

It's the download time for an HD movie. Right now, SD movies are instantly watchable and there will be a software update soon that will provide for streaming of HD content

Yes in a future release you will be able to stream HD titles. Your downstream Internet connection needs to support 4 mbps.

But as I stated earlier, even when Instant HD becomes available, the Bourne Ultimatum will not be available instantly (at least not right away). It has to do with the way the movie is encoded and so forth.
