the way the movie is encoded and so forth.
The quality of the new HD movies isn't going to be degraded by the streaming functionality is it?

I don't think so. The streaming quality I have seen is on par with what is seen in the Bourne movies.

Thank goodness for that! I've been able to get "used to" the artifacts I see in the Bourne movies now, if it were to get worse I'd be an unhappy 'vangelist.

If they are same or better I'm going to be seriously happy with the vudu when these new movies role out....can't wait.

I'll just say that I'm pleased with the quality I have seen with HD on Vudu.

There are a couple "scenes" in a few of the HD additions that seem grainy or problematic, but the consensus has been that it must either be the specific camera, or perhaps some damage to the original silver halide film. Although we have reported such as "bugs", and who knows, they might get their hands on a better copy real fast. It'll be interesting to see which of those scenes are caught by the avid film viewers in this forum. Otherewise all of the new HD stuff I've watched has been great.

How long will VUDU be offering the two free Bourne movies to subscribers?

Nobody knows. It's never been announced when the offer is going away.

Re: Bourne Trilogy in HD available on VUDU soon!

OK I just downloaded both of the first two Bourne movies in HD. The third movie is still showing as coming soon.
Now the problem I'm having is everytime I hit play, the picture is fine for a few seconds, then it freezes while the audio continues for a few seconds then the audio cuts out and it goes to a black screen. Then I can FF or REW and the same things happens, audio and video for a few seconds then the video freezes while the audio continues then the audio stops and I get a blank screen.
The SD content works fine. ANd with the HD content, it has the same problem no matter what resolution the box is putting out and whether I set the audio for 5.1 or stereo.
Is there something that needs to be done to correct this?
I tried this with the VUDU box connected straight to the TV and through my other components with the exact same results.

Re: Bourne Trilogy in HD available on VUDU soon!

This is a known bug and will be (to the most part) fixed in 1.2.

Please reboot your box and it should play fine.

Unplug it and plug it in again.

Although, hopefully they will come up with a way to do it through a VUDU screen in the next firmware release, since unpluging and pluging it in again is not good for the hard drive.

That's why I wanted to make sure. Typically that is the last resort with a component to reset it. Especially for something with a hard drive.
