Re: Walmart's Vudu Joins Disney Movies Anywhere

So I have a bunch of Disney Movie Rewards movies that aren't in my VUDU... Like Tangled.

Granted they aren't listed in Disney Movie Anywhere as well so I think that might be because they don't have a digital copy... but as I can "buy" a digital copy on VUDU, do we know if I can at the very least do the disc to digital or something?

I may not understand your situation corectly, but based on your post:

If Cars was imported from DMA into Vudu, and then you unlinked DMA from Vudu, Cars will be removed from Vudu. DMA is like UV for Disney owned movies. You have to keep the link active for the movies to import. Once you remove/delete/break the link, the movies will be removed. Vudu does not do this, DMA does.

I had to go into account settings on the Disney side, check the vudu box, it took me back to vudu where I was already logged in, then I got a message that I was already linked, clicked the green button (don't remember what it said) which then popped up something about complete the process - which never popped up the first time--then wreck it ralph appeared in my collection, hit refresh and they were all there. I know its not the best description of the process but it worked for me after trying other things multiple times.

no it is not like uv in that respect as i will quote from the DMA web site :When you disconnect, your existing movies will still be available in both your participating provider and Disney Movies Anywhere accounts, but any future movies you add will only be available from the account in which you acquire them. You can connect or disconnect a participating provider account at any time, but you will not be able to connect your Disney Movies Anywhere account to a different account for each participating provider for 180 days.

                So that should not happen

DMA is not like UV, according to the terms the movies stay in the unlinked account. So if VUDU is treating DMA the same as UV where unlinking deletes the titles that is a violation of the terms.

I could be wrong, but that was what I understood from reading other forums. I don't think it is a Vudu thing though.

I am shocked Disney would allow that. With three current providers, and a 6 month relink, the door is open to abuse if movies are left in the account after an unlink.

That was the reason for the 6 month waiting period.

                            From DMA's terms:
Disconnecting your DMA account with any Participating Provider account will cease all future Entitlement Sharing between DMA and the disconnected Participating Provider. DMA-eligible movies based on Entitlements which have been shared prior to disconnecting will continue to be available in DMA and in the service of the applicable Participating Provider until you manually delete them.

I think they are counting on the 180 day moratorium to limit abuse.

with a 6 month window any incentive to account swap does not exist because you would have to go 180 day without being able get updates, also disney codes are actually less restricted now because if you redeem the one side on Disney movie rewards now you could redeem the other side on say amazon or target because you have access to it on vudu, itunes and google just by entering in the one part

I'm having the same troubles mentioned upthread, as I was able to link Vudu and DMA and I can see the contents of my DMA account over there but it is not showing up in Vudu.

My DMA stuff popped into VuduToGo for a split-second, as I saw Captain America and a few other things flash on the screen, but it immediately disappeared right afterward.
