But it isn't just seeing the credits, some shows really have content through the entire credit sequence!

I am also happy that I won't have a clogged up Watchlist if I jump around a series out of sequence due to autoplay of an episode I might not want to watch

I think the only things I would really like now are pretty minor:

    - a "play from beginning" button on movie description pages
    - ability to reset a tv season to "unwatched"
    - option to jump to "my movies" when launching the vudu app (I know, not going to happen, but I can dream!)

Well said, which is why Vudu should have simply made it optional in the first place and all of this drama regarding auto play could have been avoided. Same thing with the watch list initially not being able to be cleared out, people had to complain to get that option. Companies need to realize that not everyone wants to watch in the same way, but by creating easily configurable options everyone gets what they want and nobody has anything forced. I hope Vudu has learned its lesson from this and the next time they add a new feature it will debut with a disable option right from the start.

But people are also forgetting that Vudu did not implement auto play properly, covering the credits is not necessary, auto play should simply play the next episode without interrupting the video, that was a big part of why the people that didn't like it hated it, and also it does play the next episode and cuts off part of the current episode many times which it shouldn't do. And as I stated before for episodes you own it pops up the countdown clock over previews and then plays the next episode which makes absolutely no sense after playing a trailer. Vudu did not implement this feature well but at least they have corrected it by making it optional, but the feature itself still needs work done to make it function properly.

At least Vudu is a company that listens to feedback and makes corrections (something Netflix and Amazon fail miserably at) so now everyone does get what they want with this feature, and for that I thank Vudu very much. This is a very good service and when companies take feedback and try to make things better you know it's worth using.

Now if they could just do something about stopping the controls from automatically popping up for no reason when you start a video I'd be even happier!

Awesome, I disabled autoplay and it works perfectly. Thank you very much!

I can finally watch New Girl! That show has content through the end credits and in addition to the countdown timer covering the picture, the autoplay would usually cut off the last bit of each episode.

Really appreciate you taking user feedback into consideration. Even though it seems most users enjoyed this feature, my tv episode watching is going to be a vastly better experience now.

Re: Feedback about New Vudu Interface

The Auto Play disable setting has been added, finally! Such a simple request has now been full filled, I don't understand why it had to take nearly 5 1/2 months to add this but nevertheless excellent work by Vudu. Thanks for listening to feedback and giving all of us this great option. Next time a feature gets added I request that Vudu simply make it optional right from the start so people don't have to complain for months to get a disable option added for something else.

I'd like to point out that with Auto Play turned on there is still an issue while watching trailers for episodes that you own. The countdown clock continues to pop up over the last 10 seconds of the trailer and then automatically plays the next episode even though you didn't watch the previous episode you were watching the trailer. Luckily disabling Auto Play stops that from happening. Vudu might want to look into whatever is triggering Auto Play from trailer playback because that should not be happening.

This may be old news but I just noticed the new interface now displays themed background art for some of the movies kind of like XBMC.

Definitely don't like it coming up but glad it's at least easy to get rid of- I've seen some other services keep that stuff onscreen for at least the first five seconds with NO way to make it go away sooner.

Glad to hear they're still planning to get rid of the display that comes up at the end of TV episodes- I don't mind the autoplay itself as I can always just stop it, but that display is completely unacceptable.

By the way, the recent changes at Amazon Instant Video are a good example of what NOT to do- EVERYTHING now brings up an annoying display at the end of things, and all movies seem to be flagged to do it right when the end credits start. I've sent them an angry letter only to get the standard "we appreciate your comments" response, so I just deleted the Amazon app entirely from my Roku and likely won't even be ordering from them as much as they've left such a bad taste in my mouth!

I share all of your feelings on this matter and I find all services trending towards popping things up on your screen and ruining the end credits just like cable TV has done. I realize a lot of people don't care about the credits and find them unimportant and may like suggestions on the screen for other things to watch, and I don't have a problem with that at all. My issue is forcing it in a way with no option to turn it off, if Amazon just put an option there to stop their annoying advertisement ticker with a disable option it would solve the problem.

I hope Vudu not only makes the auto play have an off option but also changes things so when auto play is on that annoying clock never pops up, or anything else for that matter, just play the next episode. There is no need to cover the screen with any of its logos or pop ups. There should always be controls to turn these things off, and I'm with you I'm about ready to ditch Amazon completely over this intrusion. I've also sent them multiple emails complaining about their ad ticker, and how I'm unhappy with when you pause a video it is grayed out so you can't even see the full image anymore, where before you could.

All of their changes have been bad, and I get the same automated response from them when I write in, I don't think they care at all. Vudu seems to be moving slowly on these issues but at least they are listening to feedback and trying to get it right. I still would love the controls popping up to stop, even though it's easy to back out of it is NOT necessary and I don't know why it was designed to do that in the first place because it doesn't make sense..

So happy to hear disable auto play is coming a lot of us have been waiting for that for a long while. As far as the controls, yes it is only a minor annoyance but it still would be great having it looked into. Maybe add an option to enable/disable the control pop ups as well. Anyways thanks for listening to our suggestions and I hope more features roll out soon.

    Keep up the good work.

Additionally, what about adding the option to turn off auto play and not having anything cover the end credits like that horrific countdown clock? Also what about doing something about the controls popping up on the screen when you start a video? It would be so much nicer if the controls only show up on your screen when you call for them yourself by pressing the up arrow and not having them pop up automatically.

Thanks for that Roku update and keep up the good work.
