They are just divided evenly through the movie/show as a way to skip more easily, not related to any DVD/BD release.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for those features, I am also waiting for a "Restart" option for partially watched videos, a way to clear the watchlist, and the ability to turn off the wretched auto play. Vudu is obviously in no hurry to implement any of these things no matter how many times they are suggested. First I was told the holiday season was slowing things down and not to expect any changes until after the new year. Well we are halfway through January and still nothing has improved, who knows when or if these things will happen.

    Please add the following functionality:

    Thanks
    • A button on the move page to restart the movie.
    • A button on the watch list page to clear the watch list queue.
    • Custom sort my movies and TV shows so, I can band all the sequels and series episodes together regardless of name.

Re: Feedback about New Vudu Interface

My biggest issue with the redesign is that I can no longer sort to see if new episodes of my subscribed shows have been released. I only watch television through my vudu and subscribe to all of my favorite shows. Removing this option has been a HUGE headache for me, I have to check each show to see if there was a new episode or if the episode that aired was a repeat. I really hope this gets fixed, it really messed up my use of Vudu.

I don't know if its been said here but the code screen for parental codes needs a redo ASAP. The numbers are huge and can easily be seen and remembered by anyone looking which thoroughly defeats the purpose of this feature.

This needs immediate attention and a more secure less conspicuous entry method.

Further insults are not productive and may eventually get you banned from the forums.

And this particular feature is one of the most popular in the new UI. Your objections are a TINY minority, but it's still something we want to accommodate. Aka please chill
The only thing I would like to see is 3D added to the "Genre" list makes it easy for me and the kids

I'm all for disabling options that interrupt content. I don't do TV shows, but what's happening with them would really annoy me if I did. I'd also like an option to play from the beginning, or resume playback. I can deal with it now, though. Just a little more difficult is all. I wish people would understand that Vudu has licensing issues to deal with. If a studio will only allow purchase or rent, but not both, Vudu has to accept that. Why wouldn't Vudu want to be as versatile as possible? And studio's arrangements with Vudu's competitors have nothing to do with the studio's arrangements with Vudu.

Re: Feedback about New Vudu Interface

To take this thread in a more constructive direction, I think the main issue here is, at its core, letting the perfect be the enemy of the possible. We all know that Vudu must have a long list of features and tweaks that many of us would like to see, and I think we can all admit that Vudu has been updating its interface and content fairly consistently, even if they don't always update the things in particular that each one of us wants most.

I've heard people argue here that they shouldn't offer movies for rent if you can't purchase them, or in SD if they're not available in HD or HDX. I happen to kind of agree with that last one personally, but I would still rather have them offer something, even if it's not what I want, rather than disappoint people for whom SD or rentals are exactly what they want. So if they held these particular features back until they satisfied everyone on this thread, who knows how long it would take, and until those additional updates were implemented it would deprive some people of features they like and use.

Now, I realize that this is a poor example, because at least one of the features in question in this thread more actively intrudes on the content-watching experience of those who don't like it, but I think the overall concept of releasing features or content as soon as something is ready for the public is still a valid one, and I am glad that Vudu seems to follow that model, even when I don't like the results myself.

Re: Feedback about New Vudu Interface

Okay. I'm glad you backed off adding options "for every single person who uses it" as you stated earlier and are simplifying your demands to only the features you want implemented. There's nothing wrong with requesting options. You even have the attention of an engineer. He noted your request, remember? What bugs me is your earlier post that you will complain about it until it's fixed, may have to spend months complaining, etc. Yippee. I'm really looking forward to that. If your feature request is a popular request, it will come out. You can't determine for Vudu what all of their customers, or even what the majority of their customers want, as you've posted before. There seem to be a great number of forum members who feel a sense of entitlement when it comes to the the Vudu service. There are times when I check the forums that that seems to be the majority of the posts. "Vudu needs to do this because everyone wants it," "If Vudu does this, they'll make lots of money," "Doing my suggestion would benefit Vudu," "If Vudu doesn't do this, their days are numbered," "Other services have this feature, Vudu needs to, too," etc. I stopped following the forums for a while because of all the whining. I came back recently when I discovered a bug in the latest (at the time) iPhone app. While I was waiting for a fix, people were posting about the Vudu Spark, in which I had a great deal of interest. I continued to follow the forums. People complained in that thread, too. "The remote looks like a cartoon," "The Spark needs to do more than just Vudu." The Spark is free after movie credits! Don't look a gift horse in the mouth! I bought 2 of them, and they do exactly what I want.

Re: Feedback about New Vudu Interface

I'm talking about on/off options for new features added, being able to clear the watchlist, customizable playlist for auto play instead of simply the next episode, not personal settings pages for each person. I think that would be pretty simple, right now there really aren't any options except subtitles and parental control lock. Adding a couple more things wouldn't hurt, but I guess suggesting that makes me ranting on a tangent, sorry if anyone feels that way.

Yes. And how many options would you have to sort through? How much time does Vudu want to spend supporting interfaces for all of the different hardware with all of your options? Someone else said there's 9 million Vudu customers. That's a lot of options to keep everyone happy. Yes, the options screen would be cumbersome. As my gym teacher used to say, "Keep it simple, son."

Sorry for perpetuating this incredible tangent, but if there was a single options or settings screens, there would not be anything cumbersome.

Or not. If Vudu were to implement options for "every single person who uses it," the interface would be much too cumbersome to use.
