Actually they could easily make everyone happy by adding the options I described. It doesn't have to be the majority opinion only matters. Being able to configure setting the way you want makes more sense because it makes the service better. Nobody can argue against the fact that the more you can customize things to your own liking the better Vudu would be for every single person that uses it.

What I don't get is why some people lodge a complaint about a problem, which is perfectly fine, but then spend a ton of time on internet message boards endlessly discussing said problem. That has got to be more annoying and time consuming than the problem itself!

These are the problems you get when Vudu introduces new features like a watchlist and auto play but doesn't give us the ability to clear them or turn them off. Basically these features are still a work in progress at this point because they were not finished when they were released in the update. In the future Vudu needs to make sure they include disable or clear options before releasing these types of updates. This way we don't have to spend weeks or months complaining until they get fixed. I really don't see the point introducing new features if they can't be configured or controlled in any way, and then portions of the customer base are unhappy because of it.

This is exactly the problem with not being able to clear the watchlist. With some shows, you don't watch in order, so it fills up your watchlist with a ton of episodes from the same series. And when you are watching out of sequence, you really don't want the next episode auto-playing either. Sitcoms and old cartoons are the most likely to demonstrate this

The watchlist is great for resuming a movie you didn't get all the way through, or keeping your spot in a tv series you are watching in episode order though.

Re: Feedback about New Vudu Interface

I like that suggestion about being able to create custom playlists, instead of only playing the next episode you could program it to play just certain episodes in a show. Or episodes from different shows one after the other, I think a lot of people would like that (without the countdown clock over credits please) and I think I would too. Obviously as long as we can turn it on and off.

But I have a feeling something like that is miles and miles away. We still can't delete our watchlist and who knows exactly how long it will take for an auto play disable option. But great suggestion nonetheless I hope they consider it.

It didn't really bother me until this past week. Since it's the holidays, I've been jumping around to the various Christmas themed episodes of my favorite sitcoms. Now my Vudu watchlist has no clue what I'm doing, or where I want to pick up from. LOL. As such, a half dozen different resume points now appear in my Watchlist for both 30 Rock and Big Bang Theory, plus a couple more for The Office. It would have been cool if I could have programmed my own custom playlist of just the Christmas eps from all my favorite shows, and then it could have done the automatic "play next" for those.

In theory, I really like the idea of not having to touch my remote to start the next show I want to watch. However, sometimes VUDU and I disagree about exactly what I want to watch next (it's not always the next episode). I'm sure this is something they'll get around to eventually though.

    +100

Equally from my point of view, humble that it is, if this is the worst thing that has happened to all of the upset posters this year, well, then, you have had a great year. Celebrate that fact!!!!

Great news Jake! Thank you for taking the time to post this, I know updates don't magically happen overnight, and I appreciate knowing the comments here are actually being looked at and considered

Re: Feedback about New Vudu Interface

I apologize if I was insulting, you have to forgive me for ranting a bit but the level of frustration I am feeling because of this forced auto play with no shut off option has taken it's toll over the past few weeks. I know I have talked about this before, but I don't believe any one should stop complaining about anything if they are not a satisfied customer. Just remember me and others "purchased" seasons of TV shows and we don't want them covered by a clock!

I think it's great that a majority of the people like auto play, that's great for them. Even though I am very unhappy with it (understatement!) I still wouldn't advocate it's removal, simply the option to make it stop!

To the person that made the netflix comment I am right there with you! I also will not buy a Roku 3 because of netflix's forced auto play that shrinks the credits down. I prefer using all older Roku models so my videos will play out and finish normally without being interrupted.

I'm becoming very worried that very soon streaming services are going to look just like cable channels where the credits are always interrupted, and then next logos will be pasted all over the screen along with ratings and ads for other shows and movies. If that happens I would turn away from streaming entirely and go back only to discs, I very much enjoy watching a show in it's entirety and that is all I am asking for from Vudu, let me continue to do that like I could before the update.

Thanks for looking into adding the feature to stop this auto play, I do appreciate that. I just want to remind Vudu that no matter how "tiny" a minority is against a new feature added that this is a pay per view service ultimately not a subscription one. Features that block, cover, or shrink videos (even if it's just the credits) aren't fair to force on to the customer who "owns" the video.

Again I'd like to say the auto play would be great without the clock, so please make an option separate for the countdown if possible, I might consider using it once in a while if my credits aren't covered!

But even for those who want and like the auto play, Vudu has to admit it made a major gaff making the countdown clock appear over trailers, how in the heck did that happen?? You can't tell me anyone finds that a good thing!

Good way to add a major annoyance to an otherwise really great service. Vudu is getting ruined because of this bad feature. Give us the shut off option on this as soon as possible please!
Your comments have been clearly noted already (in this very thread less than 2 weeks ago), agreed it's a good idea, and likely to be added.

Yes, that countdown clock is AWFUL! Not only does it block the screen, it also cuts off the last second or so- and it does it during the preview trailers for shows if you also have one or more episodes, and those get cut off mid-sentence! I don't know why so many people want to ruin things for those of us who actually want to watch stuff in its ENTIRETY (again, I purposely did not buy the more-advanced Roku unit because Netflix breaks into the end credits of most of its movies on that, and I'll cancel Netflix outright if I ever see that happen on my screen!)

If most Vudu users tolerate this, expect to see even more intrusions later- just look at the unwatchable mess that network TV has now become, with many cable channels being even worse! (No, I do not have cable or satellite and likely never will!)
