Vudu Mismatches Master List (UV, Definition, Redemption & ALID)

I've updated the sheet's filters to now include:

• Non-UV at Vudu, UV Elsewhere
• Non-MA at Vudu, MA Elsewhere
• SD at Vudu, HD Elsewhere
• HDX at Vudu gives SD at myUV
• Vudu Code Problems
• ALID Problems
• Other Problems & Notes

• Community: Season 1 - Some episodes may not be UV at Vudu or may not port due to ALID mismatches with FandangoNow.
• The Hollars - Possible ALID mismatch with Sony.

I emailed last night and got a response that the issue has been addressed but as of yet I don't see any change at Vudu. I can see it was deleted or replaced in my UV account and has a new purchase date listed.

They may have jut reinserted the same ALID. Be sure to tell them to reinsert using the US ALID that matches Vudu's.

Could be. I'll wait another 24 hours per their email before I bug them again about it. It still shows as owned in Fandango, so it didn't seem to affect anything there. Also I know Fandango is a MA vendor now, but I'm not linking it for now. That would in theory push it to MA, but doesn't fix the issue with UV.

I'm having the same problem with The Hollars

I redeemed Hollars at Sony and it wouldn't port into VUDU or FN. I worked with Sony customer care and they provided a new code to redeem directly at VUDU. VUDU wouldn't accept the code. Tried it at MA and the code worked. So Hollars is stuck at myUV and in MA for all MA proivers for me.

Relativity discontinued UV support. You would continue to have UV rights if purchased or redeemed before it was dropped. Otherwise, the code still redeems in Vudu but doesn't give UV rights.

I know they dropped UV rights for codes released after a certain date. But if a code sheet or more importantly, the movie case, advertises a UV logo, then it should be UV. Anything less is false advertising plain and simple.

The studio didn't just pull support, they flat out went bankrupt and was sold off to another company. It's not such a cut and dry case of false advertising. It would be ideal for the packaging on old stock to have a disclaimer, but I wouldn't fault Vudu for anything unless you already owned the title in UV and it wouldn't port in since we aren't supposed to lose UV rights regardless of the fate of the studio or retailer.

The responsibility falls on whoever owns the licence. If the original studio was bought by another studio, the new studio bares that responsibility. I realize that it gets complicated at that point, but they don't just buy the licences and properties, they also buy their obligations.
