    Disc to digital

Ok here's the deal, I have down loaded 150 + movies to my Vudu account. I have probably had 20 that would not allow this to happen, OK I figure there not allowed by the production company, fine. Why can't you down load movies you have that Vudu is currently selling? Example Seasons 1 - 3 Game of Thrones, I hate to buy them again,

    Re: Disc to digital

For a movie to work with Disc to Digital, it has to be UltraViolet enabled. 5 Major Studio's support UV and a few of the bigger independent studios support it, but Disney and other smaller independent studio's do not offer UV at all, like Magnolia Pictures, Millenium, ect. MGM supports it but only on about 20 of their films. Someday we hope that more studio's will support it. If a film is UV enabled, it will have a little purple UV logo on its detail page. The number of UV enabled films is growing every month. It has been growing at the rate of a few thousand a year, and right now there are close to 15,000 UV titles. Not all UV titles will work with Disc to Digital, but most of them will get added in time. TV shows can be UV, but very few of them are, and none of them are compatible with Disc to Digital. You can read more about all this at the wikipedia link in my signature if you are interested.

Vudu would love to sell you everything and anything the way you want it. But this isn't their choice to make, the content providers and the distribution contracts decide what can and can't be sold, disc to digital eligible, UV enabled (looking at you disney), or only rented (looking at you MGM)

best thing to do, which is often painful because you'll learn what films you can and cant have, check out the unofficial D2D movie spreadsheet. You might even want to bookmark that link. argh, why can't i have rounders, platoon, and escape from new york! archer voice, "this is why we can't have nice things"

as for series being d2d eligible, don't hold your breathe. studios want us to buy this (again). of course a ton of the series arent UV enabled. which does make it hard to swallow the costs of buying them again. so in a couple of years when series xyz finally gets a UV release you have to buy it a 3rd time ><
