    Share My Movies

I recently starting sharing my Vudu/UV library with other people. However, I've noticed that any movie that I have redeemed/bought since I shared my library with them doesn't show up. Both of the people I shared my movies with had to unlink my Ultraviolet library and relink for the newly redeemed movies to show up.

Is this the case for everyone? This doesn't seem practical going forward if this is the case. It kind of defeats the entire purpose. Having to unlink and relink would be quite the hinderance.

    Thanks!

It has been happening for quite some time now. I buy movies weekly and have to unlink and relink each time in order for all shared users to see all new content. It is a pain, but I've gotten into a routine with it. I redeem the movies, unlink/relink my main account then do all the sub accounts. I manage all of them so it only takes me about 5 minutes to do. I'll be glad when things get back to normal and it does it automatically.

So I can unlink my library for them and relink? Is this done at uvvu.com? Will it require me to type in their password to relink?

I didn't have to unlink and relink my library to get my movies to show up on their end. They had to unlink and relink on their end.

I find that sometimes I have to do my main account first then the sub accounts. They should be able to log into their VUDU account, go to Ultraviolet (under their sign in name) and select unlink. Then they will have to relink the account using whatever credentials they use to link to UVVU. Since I created and manage my kids accounts, I can do that because I have the passwords.

I don't share the new way that VUDU has implemented. I created my UVVU account and added my kids to it. Then I created each one a Vudu account and then linked that to their UVVU account. Since their UVVU account is actually my UVVU account, they have access to all my movies that are UV enabled. Unfortunately, they don't have access to non UV enabled content such as Disney/Marvel movies. It is kinda weird that those movies aren't available to them but I can't help that.

Yeah, this method still won't work for me. Since I don't have their passwords. They found it to be a pain since they don't know when I add movies. The Share My Movies should automatically share a movie once it's been added to my UV library. I didn't have to unlink my library.

Any comments from Vudu on having this changed/fixed?

            Re: Share My Movies

I made my fist attempt to "share my movies" with my caregiver. I had a severe accident and am now disabled so I truly enjoy films. When we got her all set up, she can see my collection, but when she tries to watch one, she is required to rent it or buy it. How is that sharing? That is multi-level-marketing that should be illegal if it isn't already! I asked VUDU WTF is going on and I have received no answer yet. Any comments?

Relax, its a glitch somewhere, not the normal experience. It's possible she may need to add billing info to her account to enable watching, but I am not sure if that is the fix.

This happens a lot with new Vudu users, including members of my family. It's just a usability problem, not a scam. You have to navigate across a few screens of stuff for sale until you get to your own movie library.

She is looking at the movies that first come up when Vudu starts. Those are featured films and shows that are for sale and may or may not be ones you own. She needs to navigate over to My Vudu first to see the ones you actually own. Once she does that, there won't be any problem.

But if those titles were purchased by him and properly shared with her, when she selected one of them (regardless of where in the VUDU interface she tried) it shouldn't show her purchase prices. It should allow her to just play them!

Some movies do not port. Such as Disney Movies.

The player UI (at least on my Blu-ray player) has changed recently so My Vudu is now the first item. That's a great improvement!

We don't know for sure that she tried ones he actually owned. Even if she, did the ones featured on the top screens are usually the digital retail versions with bonus features so it would still try to sell you that bonus feature version.

Trust me, I've lived through this with my kids and other relatives. I'd like to think they made that UI change to cut down on the number of gripes like this.
