Solo: A Star Wars Story Walmart Blurays.

So I went to Wal-Mart earlier today to pick up a copy of Solo, but none of the Blurays I saw listed a digital copy with it. Did anyone elsesWal-Mart have this, is it a product error, or does it just not come with a digital code.

    Thank you,

    Billy.

That was Walmart's crappy "exclusive" version this time around. They got the no-frills, disc-only version for people who don't want to pay extra for everything else.

As usual, Best Buy got the steel case version and Target got the book version.

Oh and the Disney Movie Club got the Bluray + DVD + Digital version. They're the only ones selling the a version that includes both bluray and DVD.

I would go with the Target version because you also get a digital code (redeemable at Movies Anywhere) for bonus content. It's a clip of the history of the Millenium Falcon.

Well, first off thank you for the reply but that's pretty unfortunate because I don't have a Target or Best Buy near me. I mean I can just order online. And you know what else was weird about Wal-Mart, there was a sign Limit 2 per customer sign on the Solo display..

You have to hand it to Walmart for coming up with an exclusive that gives you less while other retailer exclusives give you more. Lol.

At least in the past the Walmart exclusives came in a unique case/sleeve and included exclusive Topps trading cards/discs. This time their exclusive literally gives you less.

The way I understand it is the lack of digital copies in Walmart Disney blu-rays can be traced to the lawsuit between Redbox & Disney. Redbox doesn't have a licensing agreement to sell Disney movies. Disney would not do a deal unless Redbox agreed to hold back new releases for 28 days after their home video debut. So, in a workaround, Redbox buys combo packs of movies at physical retailers. They struck a contract with Walmart to purchase a large amount every release.

When the whole Disney code-selling suit came into litigation, Disney quit including digital copies in packages sent to Walmart so that Redbox would be stuck with code-free packages and therefore unable to sell the codes. This began with Black Panther I believe.

My WalMart also didn't have the BluRay with Digital copy, but Target did...for the same price. Very annoying to make a second trip though.

This is what I put together based on the whole ordeal with Disney and Redbox. Leave it to the greediest company in the universe (Disney) to stick it to customers because they werent making every penny they could. They would be one of those companies to find the cure to cancer and then charge a patient $10 million to cure them.

It's been like this since Black Panther, IIRC. Disney Blu-ray releases at Wal-mart don't come with digital codes (though they sell for the same price as the ones with codes at other retailers). There also hasn't been a Disney Instawatch release since Cars 3.

Prior threads about this have been locked, so your confusion is understandable.

Not true. At least 2, maybe 3.

                      Big Hero 6
                      Cars 3
One of the Avengers (pretty sure, can't remember which one.)

This is flat out incorrect. Cars 3 was Instawatch at launch. And it is still Instawatch today.

Anyone saying otherwise hasn't bothered to verify the information.
