    SONY XBR65X930D and UHD

So I have a 4k TV, and I have bought several movies UHD, but when I turn on VUDU on my TV, it will only let me watch HDX. I'm scratching my head like WTH?

do you know if the version of the Vudu app you are using supports 4K streaming? Even if it is a 4K TV (and I am assuming you are using an app on the TV itself), the app/equipment used for streaming needs to be 4K streaming capable.

This might help from the website - suggestions regarding 4K playback on netflix - might be same for u:

From what I can tell, you need to set your HDMI Signal to "Enhanced Format" if you are using an external streaming device.

The Sony 930D native Vudu App does NOT support 4K. The Netflix App does. If you want Vudu 4K I recommend a Roku.

Yes, some UHD titles will not provide HDR (HDR-10 or Dolby Vision) on anything except the Chromecast Ultra. For instance I tried playing "Baywatch" UHD on a Vizio display, the Apple TV 4K and the Nvidia Shield and none of these devices played HDR. I then tried the Chromecast Ultra and it played Dolby Vision just fine.

            155 UHD
            829 HDX
            3 SD

It took them ( Google, LG, Yamaha, etc ) a while to get it sorted out, but now its been smooth sailing with DV / Atmos / Vudu / CCU. Works great!
