At least once I let it go until it error-ed out. I will try again though, thanks.

It is true that Walmart and Amazon are competitors, but the counter argument to that is Netflix, Hulu, and other subscription based services are competitors to Amazon's Prime service, which I am a member of. I have told Amazon directly as both a prime member and owning a first gen Fire TV that if they were to join ultraviolet and allow ultraviolet movies to be accessible via Fire TV devices I would buy more movies from them. I purchased Remember the Titans from them last year and they are part of Disney's Movies Anywhere program so I really don't see what the issue would be by simply enabling playback of one's ultraviolet digital library through their device if they don't want to give access to a competitor outright. It seems as I have told them that they are leaving money on the table by not enabling it. When I first purchased a Fire TV back in 2014, via a trial I was offered, you could playback some ultraviolet content via the Flixster app, but as of I want to say March of last year, Flixster removed the ability to play movies on their app outright so it pretty much made their app useless. I know now they (Amazon) have a newer model Fire TV, but I have no interest in upgrading strictly because I don't have access to my digital library, which currently sits near 500. For what it's worth, I took a survey sent out by Amazon over the holidays and Vudu was listed as a potential service that might be added.

I really expressed my opinion in the comments section of the survey in saying that what the Fire TV offers as a device is solid, but it lacks big time in this area and is one of the main reasons why I don't use it as my primary device. At least given that they listed Vudu along with a few other digital stores more than once in the survey is a glimmer that they might be adding something, but I learned a good lesson when I first tried Over The Top (OTT) technology years ago and that was to really research and invest in more than one device as some apps/services are either not available on some devices or perform better on some than they do on others. Truth be told, if I wasn't a longtime Prime member and didn't like going back and forth between devices and comparing what's avaible and how they perform in comparasion to my Roku, the fact that they don't have Vudu and until last year had a so-so version of Flixster, I probably wouldn't have gotten the Fire TV, even though for what it has, it's a solid device. I would be lying if I said that I didn't spend more time on my Roku and that I don't regularly search the newest devices to see what's new and will be available. If I could get pretty much everything (Including my library) on the Fire TV as I do on my Roku, I wouldn't switch devices as often as I typically go back and forth at least once or twice a week. Hopefully they'll add something that will solve this issue given that it's a new year, but we'll see. Happy New Year guys.

Seems like the best device is the Nvidia Shield, who just announced that Amazon Video will be added to it's lineup and they already have Vudu, Netflix, Hulu. The only thing lacking on the Shield is a Xfinity app

You will never see a Vudu app on Amazon, just like you won't ever see iTunes on Amazon, or Vudu or Amazon on Apple products. Amazon isn't even selling Apple TVs now. Just like you will never see DirecTV Now or Sling TV on PS4/PS3, since it would be competing against PS Vue. However, I'd love to see how Sony treats Hulu once it comes out with its streaming service later this year! It's a competitive business, but I believe an app should be available for all major brands, and customers who use said device should be given the option.

This is simply not true either. Apple TV can be sold from Amazon and is. VUDU is also available on the newer gen Apple TV. Suffice it to say it is not about what the App does but the platform the VUDU app runs on and the license required to put VUDU on their devices. Whether Amazon will seek licensing to put VUDU on their devices, or not, is another story.

Amazon is about making money, and it really doesn't matter where the money is coming from. The determining factor would be what percent of the Market share they would be missing out on if they do not provide VUDU on Amazon's devices, and is it significant enough to miss out on?

And besides, each of the subscription based, or purchase based companies such as VUDU, Apple TV, Amazon Prime, etc., all have to seek licenses from the Movie distributors and networks. Therefore, one movie might be available on Amazon Prime, while not available on VUDU. This will factor into if the market share is enough to miss out on.

My post is nearly 2 years old. Things have changed on Amazon since my post.
