Is Vudu dropping support for older TVs?

I have a Sharp "Smart" TV made in 2012 that still has the older Vudu interface with the black background (which I still prefer to the new one.) Since last week, the home screen has been showing just black boxes where the featured titles should be- clicking on the black boxes brings up the titles that should be there, and titles still show up on the other screens. I usually watch movies through my Roku box since I can't get Dolby Digital Plus out of the TV with my receiver, but I still use the TV interface a lot to check for new stuff.

Having the same issue w/ my Sharp LED TV as well. No new software for the TV and no way to remove and reinstall the app. Feeling the same pain with all my Samsung products. 3D BLURAY player from 2012 and a new Samsung LED TV all running the old App. Not sure if this a VUDU problem or TV manufacturer problem. VUDU please advise on the issue..

Some of the older devices are just not capable of handling the newer UI due to hardware limitations. As we all know technology evolves pretty quickly nowadays.

Is there some End-of-Life for devices published? Otherwise we will only know when it breaks and we lose access to Vudu.

How does that apply to a 2015 Sammy LED TV?

Sounds like a bug here. Missing posters on the old UI might mean the "old" poster sizes are not present (we generally resize them on the server so the underpowered TVs don't have to scale them

I reported this, should be fixed ASAP.

Issue resolved, posters are back. Any chance we can add sorting capability for Sammy devices when looking at the My Vudu tab?

I believe the new UI has it. If your TV is on the old UI it means there is some bug/issue with the HW or firmware (not enough memory, or graphics issues, etc) preventing it from being upgraded. AFAIK this is limited to the original VUDU box, some Sharp TVs, and some Samsung BD players.

The old UI will be supported, but for maintenance only, not new features...
