    Disney movies not eligible?

I'm trying to declutter my home and put as many titles I have into the "cloud." Some of my titles tell me "not eligible for disc to digital." One movie inparticular I want to upload is "The Lion King" I currently have the "diamond edition" however upon scanning it I get a message saying its not eligible. However the "Walt Disney Signature Collection" is available on Vudu. https://www.vudu.com/content/movies/...ection-/882703 Am I just going to have to shell out more money to get this title or is there something I'm not doing correctly?

Disney and it's affiliates don't participate in the D2D program...so open that wallet and dig deep for those digital copies.

Thats what I figured I'd have to do. Thats straight up stupid. Whatts the point in buying a physical copy then having to buy another digital copy? #moneygrab on Disney's part.

I have a VHS copy of this film, should I have been entitled to a digital copy too?
You should be thankful Vudu lets us convert the titles that are eligible, no other service allows this at all.

Not so. Pretty much ALL the Dreamworks Animation titles are D2D eligible up to 2015...

Dreamworks films distributed by Disney/Touchstone are not eligible, such as Bridge Of Spies, Need For Speed, Lincoln, Warhorse.

Don't you need the Lion King in 4KUHD anyway? That's available now, and comes with UHD digital copy and 200 reward points, just saying.

I would venture to say that once the Disney/Fox deal is done, those Fox titles may no longer be available as well. So if you got Fox titles needing to be converted, get'em before the ink dries.

This page has a search bar about halfway down where you can type in the movies you would like to convert to see if they are eligible for the program.

Once that happens...would currently converted Fox titles still work if you have them digitally converted? Or would support eventualy be pulled? Furthermore why do you think that once the ink dries that Fox titles may no longer be available?

All those Fox titles already converted and in your library, access to those will continue as normal. As for the take over...Why would Disney allow Fox titles to continue in the D2D program at $2-$5 per eligible copy when they can charge you $14.99-$19.99 for that same copy? $2-$5..is not..what's best for business. Remember...Disney's All About The Benjamins!!! If I'm wrong I'll be the first to admit it.

Back in 2013 when Disc to Digital first debuted in Walmart stores, I actually did bring in a big bunch of VHS tapes for successful conversion

This article from back then mentions their eligibility:

I didn't do VSH tapes because I got rid of those a long long time ago. I did do HD DVD discs and the salesperson at Walmart didn't know the difference and converted those to digital.

Wow, wish I had of known VHS were accepted at the stores when they did conversions. We still have a bunch of tapes to this day that were eligible. Oh well, that's money still in my pocket for the time being.

They weren't. The person quoted in that article was incorrect. Some people got employees to allow it that didn't know any better or were told to do so by a supervisor.
