How do i get an actual movie file???????

Hi. So i read all about VUDU and how you can download files. That this very thing made VUDU desirable. So I bought a movie....tried to download the file in my android phone, on my iphone and even just now tried it on my laptop via VUDU on the go. Not a file to be had. So...is this whole file thing a bunch of crap or am i doing something wrong here because it was the ONLY reason i bought from VUDU in the first place.

You can download movies in the Vudu app to watch when you are not connected to the internet, but it doesn?t give u access to a movie file (that would lead to a lot of piracy issues). I download movies all the time via the app to watch on flights/etc when I can?t connect to the internet.

The program writes files on your device obviously as the movies take up space. I have never examined them but even if you located them and opened them I do not believe they would play back. And they are encrypted with full copy protection so they cannot be copied to another device and played back.

What you are looking for it this: The only way to play Vudu downloaded movies from within the Vudu app itself - look for the downloaded movies folder in the (hamburger or drop down) menu. You can access this option even with no active internet. It will display all downloaded films/TV. You can playback from there, and you can manage them from there.

As far as I know you need to be currently logged into the Vudu app for it to have the files on your device. Once you logout or uninstall Vudu it will also auto delete the movie files so you will need to redownload again if you did that by mistake.

You can login to several (at least 8) different devices and download your movies to those devices (even in duplicates) so there is no need to copy any files. I think it works very well.
