I don't like the idea of paying a rental/purchase for a UHD file if it will not playback correctly.

Here are 3 free short titles you can test UHD playback with:

Why is it taking so long to implement HDR10? There are far too many titles available now that we can't access because of the Dolby Vision exclusivity.

Maybe someone here can help me figure out HDR. My TV is a Samsung ks8000. On the built in Vudu app, the HDR titles show HDR under the UHD details, but on the Xbox one s, I see Dolby vision. Neither version seems to activiate HDR on my tv. Is HDR10 available or not?

HDR 10 still not on VUDU. I now wonder if it ever will, because the Sony and Best Buy sites now list 3 Sony tvs with Dolby Vision support. All have the X1 Extreme chip. It appears there will not be a backward compatibility upgrade via software as only the X1 Extreme chip supports Dolby Vision. We will likely have to wait for the 2018 models to get a reasonably priced Sony with the new chip!

Someone needs to let this guy(John Archer) know that not all Dolby Vision sites(VUDU as he thinks) support HDR10. See paragraph near end of article. Just wish it were so!!!

Re: VUDU UHD - Compatible Devices List

I have a Samsung 4K TV that is the KS series. It shows it as being one of the compatible devices for VUDU to view 4K movies. I just bought "Collateral Beauty" in UHD but the app in the Samsung Smart Hub shows only HDX and SD available to be played on my device. Very unexpected and upsetting. I ordered a Chromecast Ultra today to make sure I'm able to view 4K Vudu content. If that doesn't resolve the playbook issue I guess I'll have no alternative but to contact support to dispute the validity of the purchase since the information provided is incorrect. Anyone else have this issue?

Vizio site only lists P and M series as Dolby Vision enabled!

The M70 is M-Series. So, yes. It supports Dolby Vision.

When the Sony A1E (OLED) gets the Dolby Vision firmware update can I use a Chromecast Ultra to get Dolby Vision 4K playback? I know Sony Android Vudu App doesn't support UHD at all and my Roku Premiere does not have any HDR playback.
