For those of you with CCUs somebody in avsforums seems to have found a bit of a work around:

    http://www.avsforum.com/forum/166-lc...l#post55933188

For those of you tired of waiting for Google and Vudu to fix the problems with Dolby Vision via casting to CCU, it appears you can now get Dolby Vision on Vudu by casting from your Windows 10 PC using Google Chrome. I tried casting from Chrome to the CCU on one title (Only the Brave UHD) and I got Dolby Vision and Atmos. I don't know if this fixes all the broken titles but it worked for this one. I have the CCU connected to AVR directly and only got stereo when connected to Vizio.

On my 2016 LG OLED, VUDU UHD titles with both DoVi and HDR-10 cast correctly from Chrome, but use HDR-10 / BT.2020 format. Older UHD titles with DoVi-only still flag the display as HDR-10, but the Chromecast sends SDR / BT.709. The EOTF and gamut are clearly wrong. I haven't tested every UHD title in my library, but all the ones I tried behave this way.

Can someone please try this? I guess the Roku's don't have a 1080p HDR output option? Thanks!

I have heard that the 4K Apple TV can transcode HDR to anything but it is not real HDR so I am not sure how beneficial it is. In other words fake HDR.

A guy on avsforum just received a 2018 Sony A8F Oled and has onboard Vudu 4K/HDR app on android tv 7 nougat platform....The app itself was the only thing that had to be updated for the 4k/hdr features....So Vudu saying we (2017 sony owners) have to wait for Android 8 oreo to get the 4K/HDR app seems like folly.

Sooooooo.... UHD streaming to chromecast is STILL an issue. We were told an update was coming "really really soon" like a month ago now.

I wish I could give you all hope but it's been a year and a half still no UHD VUDU support on my KU model Samsung. Not only that but HDX won't even play. Never has. Considering the newer models and brands that don't have support I am not holding my breath. In fact my 2015 M model Vizio just received an update (1.5.15) and now no UHD Vudu on most titles on that either. Luckily I gave up a year ago a bought a 4K player off Ebay cheap.

Casting from the Chrome browser on your pc works...mobile devices is still a problem. FelipeF will be posting an update when its resolved.

Is there a list of TV's which are planned to have UHD support? I realize I have an older Sony (XBR-65X850C) but it's still a great 4K HDR TV with Android TV running the show. Shouldn't be any reason why I can't have nice things like the 2018 models do.

The Apple TV 4K can actually output 1080p HDR, with real HDR when available...and can automatically switch between SDR/HDR when there is HDR. The problem is that Vudu isn't providing UHD playback. If they got their act together and provided 4K/HDR for their apps for the Apple TV 4K or TiVo Bolt, I wouldn't have to look at other devices. Sadly, it looks like none of the supported devices output 1080p HDR.

I'm still waiting for the HDR war to end, or DV and HDR10+ to be implemented, before upgrading my projector. And right now it doesn't seem worth it to spend money on 2 new devices for the sole purpose of adding HDR playback for Disney movies.

Jake JeffreyVUDU I purchased an Apple TV 4K yesterday, and all I can say is wow! What a difference! My Roku, Xbox One X, or the android 7 on my X930e don?t even compare to it. The menus are smooth, the home screen is in 4K and hdr if you want. With the new 11.3 update I can get Dolby Vision through HDMI on my Sony! No need to beta test anymore. I?m using HDMI input 2 without arc and it still will allow me to control the volume and turn off the tv. It even lets the Sony remote control the Apple TV. I would love to see the Vudu app updated on this soon. Is there a timeframe on when this might happen?

Count me in on that. Also the app for the x930e. 4K HDR for either of those would be great.

Does anyone know if the Fury products can duplicate the correct EDID that would signal the VUDU stream to send Dolby Atmos?

I have a non compatible 1080p TV, but my processor is a Marantz AV7702 Atmos. I am planning to buy either:
                                • Nvidia Shield TV
                                • Roku Streaming Stick+, Premiere+, Ultra
