Re: Large Movie Collections and Why the Bundles/Unbundling Matters.

Has anyone been able to call VUDU and get a particular bundle UNbundled? I ask because I just redeemed my code for the Bond 50 Ultimate Collection, and am disappointed that I see no way to list the titles individually in my library. I also can't sort them by title, release date, or Tomatometer. Sheesh.

I feel like many of you are expressing ideas that are not only aesthetically important to your Vudu experience, but also for sheer function. While I recognize why Vudu cannot simply provide such a service, this does not satisfy my want or need for it. I personally have all the Friday the 13th films, Matrix, Lord of the Rings, Hobbit, Marvel Universe, and I would like to create my own bundle.

I enjoy and love Vudu so much and I think it really has to start putting the experience and the needs of the viewers ahead of certain aspects. For example, I don't want to have to navigate through so many different options just to get to MyVudu when viewing from my television. I think the search options should bring up our movies first, rather than place films that have not been purchased first. The user experience could use some improvement, and to really compete with Apple, I think it should.

Some areas of focus I would like to see Vudu improve, would be:

? Creating personalized bundles and unbundles (allowing viewers to even use their own artwork)
? Get rid of the BUNDLE & SAVE label after I've purchased the bundled films. I've already purchased it, you don't need to tell me that I can save money.
? Also, get rid of the price deal label in the MyVudu section. I've already purchased the film, you don't have to tell me how much it is now.
? Create a different and more visually pleasing label for films with special features. The + BONUS FEATURES does not look sophisticated nor professional. In addition, I don't know about anyone else, but I wanted to buy Spectre with all the special features, however, that ugly +BONUS FEATURES label just ruins it. I know this may be small, but I like order, consistency, and attractive design to my collections.

Once again, I really am a full-fledged Vudu fan, but I do want my viewing experiences put first. Nice chatting with you all.

But to search a title I own, find nothing, and then scroll through 2000 titles is ridiculous.
I know people actually calling up and having titles deleted from an account just to make navigating easier. The Vudu tech guys & gals do a decent job as Vudu is available almost everywhere and works great, but the sorting options need work. A big gripe for a long time.......
I really like the idea of a custom view folder, not just having favorites like DMA.
I will also +1 that search must bring up the title if the user has in their library when Vudu is no longer selling to the public. Sorely needed and frustrating not to have.

Also I hope the search by actor that was just added to the mobile app can be ported to the web interface - it is a great feature.

          Yes! So much, this!

I have a large library and search is the primary UI I use for selecting movies. Because browsing my long list takes too much time. I have to always stay concerned that some purchases I have in my library, won't show up in a search. So annoying.

Really hoping VUDU is doing something to integrate these features. The whole Bundle mechanism is flawed if you can't unbundle. I'll probably end up just buying movies separately.

I came here to post something similar but no point in repeating, as you said it perfectly. Please VUDU, hopefully you're listening to us here on the forums.

Re: Large Movie Collections and Why the Bundles/Unbundling Matters.

I agree. We need to be able to bundle and unbundle our films. Series like "Fast And The Furious" change titles every movie. The second film "2 Fast 2 Furious" starts with the number 2, placing it near the beginning of my library. The Other titles in the series are located farther down in my library, separating the movies even further depending on whether the titles start with the "Fast" or "Furious." It makes it a hassle trying to watch a series.

That could be fixed by what I call "custom folders". Of course, you'd have to choose all of the F&F movies and put them in a special folder, but I am a strong proponent of custom folders because it's much more flexible. You could make one for your kid's movies, you could make one for date night movies, you could make one for killer robot movies! The way I envision it, none of those would take it out of your full list, and you could add a movie to as many custom folders as you like.

Custom bundles under a new tab called "My Collection" is what I have been asking for. Probably the same thing you are talking about. Allow us to add bundles, and assign a name to them, under the new "My Collection" tab and insert movies and television shows into the bundle. We should be able to sequence the titles within the bundle in any order we wish. In addition, we need better parental controls where we can lock all content from specific device names and then authorize at the custom bundle level what can be seen from the device. I don't want ANYTHING else visible on devices used by my kids.

Has anyone tried unlinking and then relinking their UV libraries to try and unbundle movies? Is there any chance that would work? Or would the bundle just reappear in my library?

If you merge your library into a second library and then link a new second vudu account to the new second UV library it will break all the bundles.

There are downsides. Any bonus material that is also UV will also unbundle and will appear in your movie list. If you have lot of UV bonus material it's actually even more annoying in my mind.

Also any Vudu purchased items that are not UV would also be missing and you would have to watch them with your inital Vudu account.

There is no work around that unbundles without creating other problems.
