    Vudu Commercials TOO LOUD !

It's annoying enough that they are so few advertisers / sponsors that you often see the same commercials at each break if not several time s times during a movie.

But the worst part is that many of the commercials are substantially louder than the movies. Often 2 or 3 times louder. Like you have to hit mute instead of lowering the volume. The commercials should be the same level as the movies or maybe 10-20% louder.

And the offender who's loudest the Vudu commercials for the Family Play, they are simply deafening loud.

The volume of the ads (and movies) should be normalized to a standard level. One thing I have seen is some devices do not seem to handle this correctly for stereo vs surround (stereo seems louder - and the ads are stereo).

What device are you using? We'll see if we can reproduce it and whether it is due to the device or the ad encoding...

This has been an ongoing issue since roll-out for me and I've asked about it several times as well as commenting to the fact during any surveys.

This happens on all my Roku Ultra units including the 2019 unit just released this month.

All commercials are louder but Vudu specific commercials as absurdly louder to the point of deafening, compared to movie level.

I'll be happy to run any testing to need.

Sorry, bit more info (since it affects how the device handles audio) - is this into a receiver, TV directly, etc, and do you know if you have the Roku audio set to "auto" vs any other output settings?

Roku is connected to a Yamaha YSP-5600 soundbar. Issue is not present with Hulu or other providers that switch between viewer content and advertiser commercials. I'm not near the Roku to check setting but I have it's probably on default setting (auto?) so that stereo or surround is handled correctly depending on content.

It indeed is set to auto.
