No Disc + Digital Landing Page Anymore

When I heard that Fandango purchased Vudu, I assumed that Disc & Digital and Instawatch were doomed seeing as Walmart would no longer have a stake in it. I noticed today that the sub-menu under 'Movies' for 'Disc & Digital' is no more

That said, I still see that the service is being offered when you click on specific titles (like Bloodshot, for example) but the disappearance of the landing page can't be a good omen for the service going forward

There is a page still up linked to the banner at the bottom of the Home Page.

That link is for Disc2Digital, Capt was talking about Disc + Digital and I'm not seeing it either. P.S. forgot when you post a link or quote something with a link it needs to be approved so a similar post to this will show up later

Disc + Digital is no longer available. Disc + Digital purchases that have received the digital copy will still receive the physical disc once the movie is released.

I covered indifferent post on same topic. InstaWatch page is still up on Walmart.com and numerous titles are still flagged as InstaWatch eligible. But will it work since Vudu confirmed D+D on their side is dead. Who knows. They were "kind of" intertwined. But then sometimes titles were on one and not the other. See what forum mod's say. I wouldn't buy anything IW right now, but WM does offer free returns so your call.

Well if/when instawatch goes away there'll be no need to buy movies from Walmart anymore.

Agreed. Unless FN and WM strike a contact for it. But I doubt that would be mutually beneficial. I would guess that the only reason why D+D was able to work was: 1) WM and Vudu were owned by the same company so they got the money on either side; 2) They were big enough to leverage the studio into the free digital just like BB does with Steelbooks and Target does with Sorybooks.

FN doesn?t have the power of WM so yeah I don?t see D+D coming back. If it does it would prob be Amazon and even that only benefits us if it?s a MA title so that it ends up in you (new) FN account. That said Amazon usually is more focused on special price deals than bundle deals with say a digital copy.
