    Integration with Google TV

Will Vudu work on getting the Vudu app to integrate with the new Google TV? I mean like, I want to be able to search for movies on Vudu using the Google assistant feature. It would be great to be able to say show me my Halloween movies on Vudu, and it would take me to my Vudu Halloween list. Also, I'd like to be able to put my shows on Vudu in the Google Watchlist, and be able to play it in Vudu from the homescreen.

I am replacing my Apple TV with this new Chromecast, if it's a good experience.

I would like to see integration with both Google TV and Apple TV, so seconded.

I'm disappointed to learn, after I installed my new Chromecast, that the vudu app is the old one without the lists feature, and is very different from the Roku, and smart tv apps. I hope it gets updated soon.

Yeah, the Vudu app on the new Chromecast is v6.0 and it only supports HDX. I"d be happy if they just upgraded the app to support UHD, but it would be really nice if they could integrate like all the other "big names" in streaming.

The (Android TV) app itself supports UHD, but it is not yet enabled on this device - it's being actively worked on and will be enabled as soon as all issues are resolved.

@Jake how about the list feature? Is that being worked on? I really prefer the layout of the Roku app, but the functionality of the Chromecast. I'd like to know so I can return this device if I need to.

The Tivo Stream 4K is another new streaming box that uses Android TV. I think this will lead to increasing popularity of the Google TV OS, so I hope that Vudu and other app developers improve their Android TV apps.

The lack of vudu's integration into the OS as well as the lack of 5.1 sound is brutal. I love vudu and I love my chromecast, why can't this be straightened out and if it can be when will we hear anything??? Almost ready to abandon both

Seems as things have got worse on the Google TV app front. Just checked and now the app no longer plays in Uhd format again. Even worse, the stereo output bug is still there.

Huge step backwards. Please fix guys.

The new Chromecast with Google TV is a great piece of hardware but lets be honest, it really wasn't ready for release yet. I experience bugs with just about every app on it. Even Disney doesnt have atmos working yet. I do have high hopes for it though. Netflix with Vision/Atmos is great. HLG HDR with sports on fubo is great. That shows me what it is capable of. I have faith that the software will catch up at some point.

Jake, your post was 14 months ago. I found this thread in December 2021 when I googled "vudu on chromecast with google tv limitations." What's the story? How many bugs could there be? Can we ever expect to get the content we paid for at the resolution we paid for on the device we paid for? Has the entire thing been written off?
