I wish VUDU could get their act together and also fix the things lacking on the Andriod TV/Google TV app (e.g. custom lists are nonexistent, episodes don’t show as watched, etc.).

This will certainly make those of you happy that have been asking for years to get Vudu on FireTV.

Personally as someone who owns (several) of each of the major streaming devices it’s only worth wild using Vudu on a Roku.

          What makes you say that?

Well, for me, the app on Roku (and other devices that aren't android tv) is a lot more intuitive when you go to view things like TV Shows. The ATV app seems to require a lot more clicks to go to the season and episode you want. As was mentioned above the lack of lists is another thing.

Exactly. The app on non-Roku, and especially ATV, are either: missing features, don't work as intended, or function ideally.

i was just curious. i'm mostly a physical media person, so i just pop in the disk. Its better than all devices. However, when i do use Vudu to watch, i've always used the android app to cast to a chromecast. That has worked very well for me.

                  There’s a few points here.

If you use something like Kaleidescape streaming it’s actually as good, or better than disc because they master the streaming themselves from studio source files or physical media. But then it requires a $5K streaming box.

Also there seems to be more and more 4K titles coming out only on streaming where the BD and DVD are only physical media.

If all you’re doing is casting then which box makes a lot less difference. Assuming the box can handle HDR, DV, and Atmos which some boxes can’t or the Vudu app doesn’t support it. Likewise a lot of people use the app on the devices, instead of casting, and the Roku one is the best for that.

But I know what you’re saying disc usually has less compression. higher quality audio options, more extras, etc.

Heads-up: The Alexa integration is kind of wonky. Though it might possibly get fixed soon.

Alright, there might be some noticeable things that could use some desiring, but I'm sure it might be fix later on.
