True Lies, The Abyss and Young Guns?

Any chance of EVER seeing True Lies, The Abyss or Young Guns available for purchase on Vudu? Been waiting for these for many many years now and have had them 'checked' to show on my wishlist which I check daily (they have never shown up since they are not available).

I know James Cameron was supposedly the holdup for True Lies and The Abyss as he wanted to re-master them for digital or some such first, but since he's been off making a bunch of Avatar follow ups he's never gotten around to it and probably unlikey too anytime soon. Ridiculous that these aren't available. Speaking of Avatar, why no UHD? Let me guess... James Cameron again?

Young Guns (the first one) is another weird one, especially since Young Guns 2 has been available forever. Guessing some network or studio owns exclusive rights and plans to sit on it for no good reason until no one cares about it any more. Beyond stupid.

Would be nice if these would become available before humanity finally wipes itself off this planet...

Just venting. Thanks and sorry for beating a dead horse.

I would love to see all three of these available for sale.

I want to say, "Especially..." but, no, all three. Equally.

I think Young Guns may have been available a long time ago - did you get it back several years ago? As for True Lies, I have seen another post from someone else claiming they got it (recently?). I'm not sure how you got it but count yourself fortunate. With all of these I tried Disc to Digital (I owned the discs) and even codes. They were the UV codes if I remember correctly. Nothing worked.

Anyhow, for those of you who somehow have them it just makes it all the more silly that most of us cannot get them. I check multiple times daily and have for more than 5 years.

(NOTE: I have seen some 'strange' things happen on Vudu over the years including certain titles showing up or going on sale VERY briefly. Wondering if this might be how a handful of folks may have managed to get one of these titles.)

Regardless, it just makes zero sense that popular big hit movies like these remain unavailable to most of us. When I first converted everything to digital years ago there were quite a few titles that I had to patiently wait for. Over the years almost all of them have been made available including recently the Peter Sellers movie "A Shot in the Dark" (a Pink Panther title that was a glaring hole in the available collection for years).

These three movies are the thorn in my side to feeling like I've finally completed converting from disc. Nice to hear that others somehow have them but again, that just proves them not being available is nonsense.

Yes, I concur with your frustration. I started collecting digital movies 9 years ago and this is my list of movies that have NEVER been available to purchase anywhere:

          The Abyss
          All the Right Moves
          Cocoon
          Prizzi's Honor
          Silkwood
          Young Frankenstein
          Foul Play
          For Love or Money (1993)
          Four Seasons (1981)

Years ago my list was about 30 movies, so the majority eventually became available. But for whatever reasons, these have never been available. Dumb!

I got True Lies and Abyss a long time ago. They have come and gone w/ studio contracts changing in the wind. I used to have True lies in SD only and then it come up HDX one day on sale so I had to add it.

I see you joined Vudu a couple years before me, so you probably got Abyss before I started buying digital.
