Rocky 2,3,4 Dolby Vision Brightness issues

When playing Rocky 2, 3, 4, and 4: Rocky vs Drago, while playing with Dolby Vision on, the screen brightness flickers and changes every few seconds. The only title that doesn't seem to be affected is the first Rocky. It's noticeable and annoying because it constantly happens. I've set my Roku display from 4k/Dolby Vision to 4k/HDR and the problem goes away for all titles. So it seems like a Dolby Vision encode problem. 2,3,4, and 4 Director's Cut are unwatchable in Dolby Vision because of this. The titles are fine with only HDR enabled. I saw someone in a social media post say they have the same issue on different TVs, so it seems like not a setup issue and it's an issue with the encodes.

If anyone else has these issues with the Rocky collection, please post here. FelipeF can you please see if you can get these fixed?

Bump. The Dolby Vision for these are unwatchable due to this.

I can confirm this is happening for me on Rocky II. The lighting in the movie keeps adjusting. It goes from dark to light in the same scene. The issue doesn't occur when watching it on Apple TV.

          Must be the Roku encodes.

I just purchased 1-4 and noticed this on part 3 and 4 for sure. I haven't checked 1 and 2 yet. I thought i was going crazy or something was wrong with my TV, but no other UHD titles do this, so there must me something wrong with the encoding. I think I'm going to ask for a refund.

I am using a Vizio tv with the vudu app. I had the same issue with the brightness flickering in the movies. I was going to ask for a replacement/repair for my television.

Someone is looking into this right now. I'll report back when I have more details.

The new UHD transfers for the Rocky films are a mess on physical media and at other digital retailers. This is MGM's fault.

I'm not exhibiting this when watching it via Apple TV +. Only on Vudu do I see the brightness issue.

Same issues still with Rocky IV 4k so far on Sony Bravia A80J. I never really noticed how much film grain is in these movies either, until 4k.

I also have a Vizio and have this issue. Doubt it’s the only reason but maybe it’s a Vizio thing? Unrelated but Also had trouble with Misery (1990)
