Millerland...I feel your pain!!! 2015 4K Sammy TV, 2016 4K Sammy Blu-ray Player, & Chromecast Ultra here and not a one will play VUDU UHD tiles, and I have a few. I've come to the conclusion that if these issues haven't been addressed and rectified by now...they never will be. I've moved on to other retailers for my UHD needs and come back here for HDX..sad case I know, but it's real.

I bought one mainly because of this Chromecast issue and because of issues with the built-in app on my LG OLED (see this thread). Both issues have been present for several months with no resolution from Vudu.

    Thanks,

It's been almost 2 months this bug exists. PLEASE get this out. Many of us have spent good money here getting these Dolby Vision titles.

From Vudu engineer on Feb 3rd:

"I can't say exactly when it will be released, but a new app is in testing now so it should be relatively soon."

We are waiting on a new app.

Meanwhile I'm paying extra for movies like mother! because of Atmos on Vudu (versus cheaper on iTunes), but have no way to play them.

It's still broken. Chromecasts including the ChromeCast Ultra, the Chromecast built into the Nvidia Shield and the Chromecast built into the Vizio Displays, all do not play UHD or UHD Dolby Vision on the newer Warner Brothers titles such as Justice league, The Batman Trilogy, Dunkirk etc...

It's broken on a lot more than 5 titles for me. Pretty much any UHD release since November refuses to play in UHD on Chromecast Ultra. Try the following titles:
    • Dunkirk
    • Inception
    • It (2017)
    • The Lego Ninjago Movie
    • Blade Runner 2049
    • Geostorm
    • Coco
None of them play in UHD on Chromecast Ultra. They only play in HDX. Earlier UHD titles don't seem to be affected. Like you said, Lego Batman seems to play just fine.

Vudu has acknowledged the issue but there is no timeline for a fix -- and it likely won't be anytime soon given my experience with Vudu.
