Re: Device Limit
I'm absolutely not saying that I would use all 8 simultaneously EVER, I would just like the limit to go more in line with standards these days like Netflix. No device limit, but they do limit how many streams you can do at once. THAT is what I would like to see. The thing for me is CHOICE. If I'm on my PS4, I don't want to switch to my Roku to watch vudu, I'd like to watch it there, or if I'm in my TiVO, I don't want to switch to my Roku, I'd like to just watch it there. It's the CHOICE that is being taken away from me. I'm not sharing my account (except in the legal way with the UV sharing with 5 people).
So, for example. Current the TV in my family room only has the Roku hooked up to my vudu account. But I'd LIKE to be able to hook up my PS4, my Roku, and my TiVO (that's 3 devices just attached to one TV), then moving on to our upstairs TV. I'd like to hook it up through my roku AND my ps3. We haven't even gotten to my kids' rooms yet and I'm already up to 5. Then each kid has a Roku attached to the tv, there's 7. So, now when I need to travel and I want to download some movies to my tablet, and my kids tablet's for the trip... DONE we can't. We have to disconnect one of the previously mentioned devices in order to do so.
Yes, you can use VUDU on a laptop without taking a device, BUT if you use VUDU to go in order to download the movie for offline viewing (ie when traveling) it DOES take a device.
Yes, this is the most first world problem that there ever was... but as I said. I would be fine with like 4 simultaneous streams and unlimited devices.

Re: Device Limit
The only thing I can add is I certainly don't feel entitled to anything here. We're just asking if anything can be done to raise the limit. If not, all is good, we'll work with it.Originally posted by sloner52 View PostI wasn't asking you to... did it come off that way?
my comment wasn't pointed at anyone in particular.. just average size homes in general.. people tend to be greedy and want more for free (I'm this way to, not an attack on anyone)... people just don't understand this is a service and not something they're entitled to....
But we have much more to worry about in life, right!?

That's for me and my family to decide. I give other people literally zero say in that, especially when they come to the conversation with no idea of the size our home, the number of devices we use, and how we live our lives.Originally posted by sloner52 View Postok that is 3 devices all together that you mentioned...... that leaves 5 left.. still plenty for a normally family of 3 or 4 - one for each bedroom and the living room, as well as one for a device used on the go..... most people(at least most people I know) have certain areas they watch movies in
tell me would you really need to have vudu connected to your phone, your bluray player, xbox or other game system, and any other device that's only connected to one TV? I myself only have 4 devices in use - 2 bedrooms, living room, and an Ipad
lets say you're a family of four.... that's two devices for each family member............... One for each of your TVs.... and one for each of you on the go (your phones or tablets depending on how you watch).... unless you want to play magical chairs with the devices your using to watch Vudu, 8 is still plenty...

There are some use cases you're not thinking about. For instance - who would want to watch a movie on a phone? I wouldn't, but I need Vudu on my iPhone in order to AirPlay it to my Apple TV. My wife has it on hers too for when I'm not home. It is NOT just about having movies on the go.
My wife is a professor at a University 2 hours away, and will sometimes just spend the night there if weather is too rough or she works too late, so she has Vudu on a Roku in her office. That's an example of wanting to have Vudu on a device outside our home, but still within our "household."
Right there I've taken up 38% of the device limit for uses you might not have thought about, and with only 2 people.
You can't fall into the trap of thinking every household runs the way yours is...

seriously who wants to watch a movie on a phone? if watching movies on the go is that important just use an ipad/tablet or a couple of them.. or use a laptop - my Laptop doesn't even count as a device(not sure if this is an error or not?)
the reason most people want more devices is so that their family, who doesn't live with them, can watch their Disney/non-uv titles..... just being able to share your UV titles is awesome and more then I would expect from companies trying to make money...... try telling your cable company that you want to share your cable with your family or even your neighbors lol... people always want more for free..

I wrote something similar to your comment right below yours but decided to remove it as you can see. I didn't see a "Delete" option so I just put the smiley face instead.

if your really trying to cut down on your devices (I haven't tried this because I don't need to) try using a roku stick and just plugging that from TV to TV(use usb on your tv to power it or wall power cable)... something simple that you can take from room to room without having to have multiple devices...heck send one to your out-of-state family while your at it...

Device limit definitely needs to be upped. family of 3 with phones, tablets, and tvs make it impossible to accommodate all of them.

I'm almost positive that the first account should be getting the UV titles from the second..... If I were you I would contact Vudu support (http://support.vudu.com/?supportPage=home) and ask them about this.... I think UV Servers have been having some trouble lately maybe that is what is wrong - I've seen people posting on here just the other day, saying that hundreds of their UV titles just went missing and Vudu was able to fix it...Originally posted by billygreen23 View PostNope. give it some time - I've had it take a day or so before it would show up.....
also in case you didn't read the FAQ's in VUDU Support... keep this in mind..just a copy/paste of whats written..
Will people I invite to my UltraViolet Library lose their movies if they join my Library?
They keep their movies and see your UltraViolet titles as well. If the invited person has UltraViolet titles from another service listed in VUDU, he will no longer see them in his VUDU account-but they still exist in his own UltraViolet Library.
Once a person has accepted your invitation and completed the necessary steps, he or she will be able to:
Through VUDU:
- Download or stream the movies and TV shows in your UltraViolet Library
- Add UltraViolet movie or TV shows to your library by purchasing them
Through the UltraViolet site only (www.uvvu.com):
- View and edit the information of other users in your UltraViolet Library
- remove other users at the same permissions level
- View, register and rename UltraViolet Players
if you can still see the UV movies in your second account then they should port over soon...just give it a day or so..
