Re: The Official Movies Anywhere Thread

Regarding The Lion King...back in my DMA account, I had two versions...they both seemed to be the same, I paid it no mind. Slightly different poster art.

Now I just have the one version. I guess that's the MA version now.

Does anyone know if 4k purchases on Vudu transfers to other services?

If I was to purchase War for the Planet of the Apes from iTunes in 4k, would it transfer over to Vudu in 4k quality whenever it becomes available?

Or will I just be stuck with the HDX version in Vudu with no possible future upgrade other than repurchasing the movie?

My Vudu movies loaded into iTunes about 2 hours ago. So I'm good, also the few SD movies I had did upgrade to HD from Vudu but not the SD itunes movies i had, those remained as SD.

I purchased War for the Planet of the Apes yesterday on iTunes. I did that so I could stream it in 4K. It is currently not offered in UHD on Vudu. At least not yet. My problem is that this movie has not transferred from iTunes to any of the other retailers (MA, Vudu, Google) that I have linked. MA does say that they are having issues syncing so that may be the reason why. Not sure. This is my first and only purchase since MA went live and I linked my accounts. All my movies in Vudu did sync across when I linked my accounts a few days ago.

Yes, my 4K purchases on Vudu show and play as 4K on iTunes. I haven't tested Google Play. And I purchased a 4K movie on iTunes, Tarzan, and it is showing as 4K/UHD on Vudu.

I still can't get Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Ultimate Edition) to transfer over to MA.

Another one that hasn't transferred is Tales From The Crypt: Bordello Of Blood.

Try disconnecting your Vudu account and reconnecting it.

That worked for me yesterday and it transferred BvS UE successfully to my MA account and the other services.

I don't know what the deal with Lion King is, it's been in and out of my MA locker several times today. Last I checked it's missing again.

There have been two different digital versions of TLK, and different sites have treated them differently. There was a Diamond Edition DC that came with the 3D release as well as in a bundle with TLK 2 & TLK 1-1/2; it appears in Vudu with "Lion King" vertically on the left and has no Vudu Extras. When it was re-released as a Walt Disney Signature Collection Edition in August, a different DC was released; in Vudu it has "Lion" stacked on top of "King" and has Vudu Extras. Apparently only the latter version is in MA; it sounds like Disney is trying to force everyone to upgrade TLK, unlike Beauty and the Beast (the few of us who had the DC with its Diamond Edition 3D automatically got its Signature Collection upgrade).

What's odd to me is how these providers are talking with each other. So I redeemed The Iron Giant and The Hitman on Vudu these are theatrical version yet when they ported over to iTunes they ported over as The Iron Giant Special edition and The Hitman Unrated yet f they are all communicating with each other why is Vudu still showing theatrical and those haven't been upgraded to unrated either.its like iTunes is doing its best to give us the best of everything while Vudu is you et what you get. I recall redeeming Dedapool in UHD but Vudu only has it still in HDX but iTunes is UHD you would think they would talk with each other and Vudu would upgrade to UHD as that is what I redeemed the code at.

After my movies imported to MoviesAnywhere and then to other providers. I saw my two latest 4K purchases, Baby Driver and Spider-Man Homecoming transferred to iTunes in 4K.

I already notice some titles like Mad Max:Fury Road and The Amazing Spider-man did not move over to Movies Anywhere from Vudu. The Amazing Spider-man 2 moved over with no problem. In my case, out of 1700 Vudu Movie titles, only around 1000 moved to Movies Anywhere meaning only 60%. I understand not every movie studio is on board yet. Likewise, around 1000 titles were added to iTunes and Amazon. I created a Google Play account and the same 1000 showed up there as well.

I thought the Apple TV Movies Anywhere app is kind of a mess or did I miss something? All titles show up there in no particular order and you just have scroll and scroll to find anything. If you have a 1000 movies in no particular order it is sort of a pain. There is no search or sort function? On my Roku box, the Movies Anywhere app does have a sort function - A to Z, Z to A, etc. Thxs.
The web app is fairly decent. The Roku, Apple TV, iPhone and iPad apps are all way basic but polished. Need to see MUCH more updated versions.

You mean you redeemed your UV code in itunes? I guess that works if you have a code, I just own it in Vudu :/

The odd thing is it does not appear in 'My Movies' on the MA site......
