Is anyone having any luck porting their Blade Runner from Vudu > MA > iTunes?

Sorry if this has been covered but I haven't received a single movie on iTunes other than the free linking ones. Is this a known issue or can I relink or something ? Not sure if I'm still suppose to be waiting it out. Also the two movies I redeemed on Sony a few hours ago have ported to UV places but not MA/iTunes/Google/Amazon.

        Thoughts ?

Nope, seems to be an issue with how it is tagged in itunes.

My Vudu titles took hours to sync into MA and then iTunes. At first only my DMA titles showed in iTunes. After my Vudu titles were in MA, I shut iTunes down completely, then restarted it. Of course, with an additional 700 movies it now takes a while to load the "movies" tab on my iPad Mini 2.

It sounds like linking and unlinking are now unrestricted, so it can't hurt to give it a shot.

Re: The Official Movies Anywhere Thread

I am hoping that this post will not cause issues with the VUDU staff, but here goes. Guys/Gals if it does please remove and sorry to have caused any issues.

I had purchased an HD title on another service that I currently only owned as SD in VUDU. That was the definition it was initially D2D'd to back in 2012 or 2013 when VUDU did not offer an HD copy at that time. This was a test to see if a MA title (it was both MA and UV) would port across the libraries in the HD format, the upgrade to HDX in the VUDU environment when purchased at another vendor. VUDU does now offer this title in HDX, Prince of Tides.

Well, the test did not go off as planned, it did not port across the MA platform into VUDU as an HDX title, it remained SD in VUDU. I waited about 5 days, still no change from SD to HDX.

So, called VUDU customer service. First rep was sadly, not well informed, I was to be transferred to a supervisor and after what felt like an interminable hold time, was instead was hung up on. Not a happy camper with that behavior.

Called back in and the rep that answered was I believe Ryan (great guy if you get him as a rep, please take note VUDU this fellow is spot on his game, and a great representative for VUDU, you may, VUDU, want to check this trouble ticket out and if I have his name wrong, identify him, and he deserves a raise).

We located the issue/title again, debated, finally when he received permission from his supervisor, he deleted the SD copy of that title that I had in VUDU originally, to determine if the title would repopulate from MA, after the SD copy was removed VUDU, in the newly purchased HDX format/definition. Well I be gol darned, it did, just perfectly, repopulated from MA to VUDU in HDX after he refreshed the VUDU to MA link, and then, it ported off to UV in HDX as well.

So it appears that if you own the title in VUDU in an SD, HDX format, have PURCHASED (paid money for) an upgrade at another vendor from one of these formats/definitions to a higher format/definition, it is not going to automatically populate in VUDU at the new format/definition from MA.

Apparently, and this may change in the future as the platforms adjust and fine tune these issues, you will have to have PURCHASED the title in the higher format/definition at the "other" vendor, it will have to be MA eligible, be resident in your MA locker, your VUDU has to be linked with MA, it must be a title that VUDU offers in that format/definition, and it will require a VUDU rep to forcibly remove it from your library, and then refresh the link with MA in order to upgrade the format/definition in your VUDU library.

I was a little nervous about this procedure, but it produced stellar results, it worked. You may want to wait until this bug is ironed out, or if it is important to you to have the title in VUDU as HDX then see if they can assist you.

I do want to caveat this post, I did PURCHASE (pay money for), this title in HDX from another vendor, it was NOT an auto upgrade due to the linking with MA, so it has to be a PURCHASED (paid money for) upgrade of that title to the higher format/definition for this process to be functional.

I'd wager that the process would probably work the same regardless of how the upgrade was achieved. A problem might arise if the service that granted the upgrade drops the title once Vudu removes it (I haven't tried unlinking things from MA to see what gets dropped, but I will out of curiosity).

I think this should be a standard behavior either way, though, not some intensive process.

I have not had much time to worry about it, but I am having issues with MA. Downloaded the app and connected all retailers. All eligible titles at Amazon, Google, iTunes and DMA show in MA, but only two titles that I just purchased at VUDU made it to MA. I don't know how many MA-eligible titles I have in my VUDU account, but with a library of over 7000 titles I am just a scosh short. I have disconnected and reconnected but it did not help. Any suggestions?

I'm not 100% sure I understood your example, but my experience was this:

I had several HD UV movies from another service which Vudu only had SD copies of. I connected to MA, and only got SD versions on other services, even though in UV, I had credentials from HD. Vudu recently added HD copies of those movies, for which I got access to the HD versions on vudu fairly quickly, since I had the UV rights. It took more than a day, but I finally got HD access on the other services as well through MA.

Thank you for your post which is mirroring my experience!

I posted about it last week in another thread. Then I tried to make a thread just for this issue to draw attention to it, but it was deleted.

I haven't taken the step of contacting vudu support yet, but I have about 20 titles or so waiting to import into my vudu from Movies Anywhere that are a higher quality than I owned, and they will not import no matter how many times I link/relink.

And there is one more wrinkle:

It seems that if the lower resolution purchase was already importing from a UV library, it seems to totally get locked out of your vudu account and shows completely not-owned. If you owned the SD copy as a direct purchase on vudu, that will stay, but the higher resolution copy will not import from MA like you said.

I have a movie where I had an SD copy on Vudu (bought directly from vudu) and an HD copy elsewhere. I connected to Movies Anywhere for the first time, and after all the porting happened, the page for the movie now shows both SD with a checkmark and HDX with a checkmark (as opposed to just HDX with a checkmark, like my other HDX movies). I connected the other service to MA first before I connected with vudu, in case that's relevant.

I actually have a couple like that, but a bunch seem to be stuck in limbo, mostly the ones that I only owned through UV previously, be it from a Flixster redemption or from Target Ticket or from a vudu account linked to a shared UV member

I posted a new thread but maybe it should have been asked here because I think Movies Anywhere might be the reason DisneyFile digital copies thru iTunes don't get upgraded to HD anymore.
