    Indian DVD titles

I see Vudu has Indian DVD titles that are offered by Eros International, but for some time they have not been updated. Are there any more of indian movies be coming to vudu .. specifically the new movies that Eros has ...

how long does it take for VUDU to get them from Eros International ?? I am just curious to find out so i can know when to expect new Indian movies...

Is there a way to deal with some other Indian movies Company and bring more Indian titles to VUDU ??

    Thanks,
    Goodbadmas

I would be very interested in more Indian titles too. This is especially sweet since the Indian movies have a 48 hour rental viewing windows! :-)

Hey, since I have the attention of a couple of fans....

I don't know much about Bollywood movies, but I like what I've seen so far. My daughter actually loved the Simpsons episode "Kiss Kiss Bang Bangalore", especially the music and dance number at the end. Have any of you seen that, and can your recommend movies on the VUDU that are heavy on the pop music and dance numbers like that?

Hmm... I have not seen the Simpsons episode. But let me go back and check the Vudu catalog today and I can come up with suggestions for you.

Here is where I put in the rant that I wish the Vudu catalog could be browsed online!

        cheers,

          According to Wikipedia:

The song that plays at the end of the [Simpsons] episode is Pal Bhar Ke Liye, composed by Kalyanji-Anandji, and performed by Kishore Kumar, a famous Indian playback singer. The track is from the 1970 Hindi movie Johny Mera Naam starring Dev Anand and Hema Malini.
I may have to find a CD with that track.

Could you please try to rephrase that , perhaps in the form of a question?

                  MaxH,

I looked at the catalog back at home and here are my recommendations (only suggesting 10 movies to get you started with :-):

                  Devdas
                  Sarfarosh
                  Bombay
                  1942 A Love Story
                  Munna Bhai
Lage Raho Munna Bhai (sequel of "Munna Bhai")
                  Pyar Ke Side Effects
                  Cheeni Kum
                  Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi
                  Satya

Unfortunately the pop music stuff has become popular only in movies since 2000 or so and there are not many of those on Vudu yet.

So instead I picked 10 movies that I liked! Don't worry they have a fair amount of dance numbers in many of them (try Devdas for instance!) ;-)

Let me know how you like them,
                  cheers,
                  Arindam

Talking about all these Indian films makes me yearn for some good Boti Kabob and Tandoori Chicken with Almond Nan!

Oh yeah, I forgot the vegetable samosas!

I currently have my parents visiting from India, so I don't even have to go to the local Indian restaurant to eat all these goodies!

I am sure that mom makes better food than the restaurant!

                          Re: Indian DVD titles

FYI, if you use the Foreign filter, there are some movies in Hindi that get filtered out (I have posted a bug about this elsewhere).

Use the language filter for Hindi instead (without using the foreign genre filter) and there are a few more movies that show up.

Thanks for the recommendations. I've just been introduced to Bollywood movies, and though it took me a while to get into it, I'm now looking forward to seeing more. If you find more with pop music, please post an update.

You've just given me a great idea. Jewish people joke around about spending Christmas eve and day eating Chinese food and going to the movies. I think this year, we'll eat Indian food and watch something from this list!

I posted your question in the beta forum to see if I can get an answer there. I'll check back in later and see if I've heard anything.
