Yea the HDMI debate again and the darn expensive cables that some of the Big Box stores try to pass off on unsuspecting consumers.

You are completely ignoring the extra benefits of extra beefy cables in an emergency (e.g. tying up an intruder in your home, using it as a rope to lower yourself out of a window during a fire, etc.).

Meh, it's not like there's a Nordost display by the HTIB aisle.

uh oh, the doom-sayers have shown up. I guess I should give up faith in Vudu because they're selling more units at a lower pricepoint.

p.s. There are two types of sales. Low volume / high price, or high volume / low price. Vudu has switched from the former to the later. This is GENIUS marketing.

p.p.s. I show the Vudu off to everyone I can and I know for a fact 4 people that have seen mine have gone out and bought one. Even at the higher $300 price tag. Seeing one in action really shows off the value.

It does? Not necessarily. Price cuts also mean less profit. It could be that the maturity/cost curve for the product has gotten to the point where they can support the $150 structure. They also could have found out that while sales at $300 were acceptable, the recent Christmas sales showed that the $150 price range would result in even better sales.

Don't read too much. I've seen dramatic price cuts in many industries and usually those cuts seem to always come on products that are selling well to drive sales further.

True. Just think about how Apple dramatically cut the price of the iPhone after a few months. I think you would be hard pressed to say that the iPhone isn't selling well.
