Price Changes, No Sort Feature, No digital Online Upgrade

    PRICE CHANGES
I really like VUDU and have over 400 titles purchased with the service. I have a vested interest in seeing the VUDU community grow and thrive. However, I don't know how VUDU has began to charge $17.99 to $22.99 for some titles while these same titles are for sell on places like Amazon and iTunes for $14.99 to $19.99. I don't know how VUDU compares in size(sells volume) to iTunes or Amazon but I would think that they could work out a deal better with the studios than that.
Also, from my own personal experience, I would pay 3.99 to 4.99 to purchase some of the existing titles I already own if it would save me the time and effort of going to Wal-Mart to have the title transferred to VUDU. I also, think that this is a good pricing point for older titles, similar as the disc are discounted in the stores. It doesn't make sense to me, how the studios can complain so much about piracy, and not embrace the digital services like VUDU. The "disc" are one of the sources the pirates are using to steal content, yet they sell that to them at a discounted price!! Go figure.

    SORT FEATURES
I know that this has been commented on in other forums, and that VUDU is supposed to be working on this feature. I hope that this is true. The user experience (ease of use) is going to play a huge factor in the success or failure of any online digital service. Would be nice to see VUDU come up with some type of streaming service similar to AMAZON Prime. This in my opinion, is about not giving anyone a reason to look at any of the other services.

    ONLINE DIGITAL UPGRADE
This feature also has been discussed in some of the other forums and I have emailed VUDU's technical service about this as well. If VUDU allows a user to purchase content on disk somewhere else, than why not allow a person who has purchased content on VUDU or even transferred a SD title (DVD) to VUDU via the Disc to Digital Service, the ability to upgrade that title to HDX for the same $4.99 price.

Confused? What type of "existing titles" conversion would you like to pay 3.99 to 4.99 for? Are you referring to DVD's you already own or the 400 Vudu titles you already own? Converting your DVD's at Walmart is less than 3.99 at $2.00 and just 1 cent more than 4.99 for HDX.

I was speaking about existing DVD or Bluray Titles, instead of me sorting thru what's in my collection (over 600 titles) then seeing if that title is available for disc to digital transfer, making list going to Walmart, spending 20 to 30 minutes at Walmart waiting in line and going thru disc to digital process, I was just saying it would be worth it for me if they just sold the existing titles on VUDU that were UV compliant @ a price of 3 to 4 dollars.
I understand that most might not agree with me on this, but for me, as you might imagine It takes some time to sort thru over 600 DVD/ BLURAY titles. and the Walmart experience can take awhile, depending on how many people are in front of you and the person doing the disc to digital transfer. This would be sort of a online short cut IMO.

I also have a lot of titles purchased via VUDU..... Quite a few in SD....It would be nice to have the ability to upgrade them as well...I.E. the movie Doubt I have in SD, would love to upgrade to HDX....The hi-def version was not available at the time I purchased it....

One HUGE feature IMO is the ability to download to my WDTV Live Hub.....I can fit a lot of films on it's 1TB drive.....I notice the file sizes on the downloads are relatively small compared to a Blu-Ray rip, which is good from a local storage standpoint......

I would also like a sort feature, mainly in My Vudu list. Right now movies show up in th order you purchased them. An alphabetical list/sort would be great.

No fault of Vudu from what I understand, but I would love to view HDX on my computer (which, oddly enough, has been HD capable about 10 years longer than TVs). Really, what is the difference between me downloading a file to a PS3 hard drive or the one on my computer?

Also want to see NAS and/or DLNA support for Vudu-to-Go downloads. I don't mind streaming, but I like to have my 'hard copy' too, and if I could 'register' all my computers/devices to use the same downloaded copy that would be awesome.

            *edit
One more thing. When using the search feature, I search with the 'own' limiter checked, but still get many titles showing up that are rental only; and, it seems that if a title is available for both rent and purchase, the rental price is shown rather than purchase price. If I search for 'own', I really mean I want to buy a movie, not that I want to rent a movie.
            end edit *

I think the new Samsung blu-ray players are going to have the function to do 'digital conversion' through Vudu by simply inserting your disc and paying some fee (no idea how it will compare to Wal-Mart). That may solve one of your concerns.

              Speed,

DLNA is part of the Ultraviolet spec.....I think when the Common File Format is deployed, it will open up more possibilities for local storage.....I have a NAS also that I want to move my VUDU movies onto.....My guess is when CFF is deployed, the playback device will have DRM in the firmware that will recognize the files being played, and the files will have DRM that only allows them to be played in an approved player, this will allow file placement in external drives, NAS, etc, because the player/file combo will determine playback ability....
