Does VUDU care about out suggestions?

    1. Sorting
You can do it on the website, you can do it on the xbox and probably the most popular suggestion on the forum. Haven't seen any hint that they are even working on it.

    2. D2D Alerts
Alerts when new D2D are added, another suggestion that isn't that hard. We get emails when new rentals are available.

I understand adding new movies to d2d isn't their fault because of licensing issues etc. the same goes for upgrading SD to HDX and allowing users to get the 2D version when they buy they 3D version but these 2 simple request make you wonder if they even care what the users want..

I hope they astound us with a huge release in the near future (a late but welcome gamechanger, like android support).

I fear for their future should amazon become a UV participant (even if I had to pay for Prime, I'd probably go with them to stream my content).

Again, I understand there are challenges to building/releasing cross-platform apps...but seeing a sort function rolled out on one platform, say, the website, would be a great confidence builder.

If someone with pull (Dan or Jake) happens to read this, I think adding the sort method into the account info/preferences area could solve the issue cross-platform.

Re: Does VUDU care about out suggestions?

You are asking for things that many of us are asking for. These are reasonable requests that VUDU should be able to quickly and easily implement.

You also ask a very valid question. Does VUDU care about their customers? Do our suggestions matter?

Netflix would tell VUDU that they better be listening. They lost many customers and received a lot of bad press over the internet when they said that they were going to separate their streaming from their DVD by mail services and website. They changed their mind and left it alone, but they did move forward with their price increases. Who knows what would have happened to Netflix if they hadn?t responded to what their customers wanted.

One of my suggestions has been to communicate with us what they are planning to do for us and when. Another member seems to disagree (for some reason) with me concerning this matter. But I feel it's a valid and reasonable request since other companies do it and since most customers expect it.

Forget about what happens to companies when they don?t listen to their customers for a second and think about what VUDU is. They are simply a ?movie locker? for us. We own the movies and television shows, we purchased the right to watch them just as we would a DVD sitting on our shelf at home. They are simply storing it in the cloud for us and providing us with technology to be able to find them and watch them. It?s like a bank holding on to your money. None of us would use a bank if they had poor customer service and if we didn?t have the level of quality in the experience of doing business with them as we expect. We would change banks in a hurry! I know I have done that a couple of times over the years.

When a company is holding something that belongs to you then things are VERY different. VUDU, Amazon, and iTunes is something more than a Netflix or some other service provider. They are holding on to movies that we have purchased. I keep my DVDs in alphabetical order on my shelves, so asking them to allow me to sort MY movies in alphabetical order is a valid request.

I don?t know if Disney?s Keychest (or whatever they are calling it) will allow all UltraViolet movies to be accessed. Having more competition should help us customers.

This being said, I still think VUDU is a really good service and I am not ready to turn my back on them. I can live with some of the problems and I am willing to wait a few months to see if they do anything to improve their systems and support. I am willing to wait a bit longer for access to my movies via Andriod. But I will not wait forever, especially if I find what I am looking for somewhere else.

Aww, you keep talking about me. I'm flattered.

I never said I disagree with your suggestion. I said that requests by customers to change basic business policies (for any company) are unlikely to be heeded. It's as if you feel you have the right to be present at all of their board meetings, only because you're a customer. You are much more likely to get a response, and maybe success, on a feature request like sorting, than insisting that Vudu send you memos on their daily objectives and internal discussions.

          Slightly off topic,

You know what would be awesome?

If a service like netflix supported UV, where I then can stream any movie for a monthly fee that is included in their package but also watch movies that I've purchased that are UV titles. Because we all know not all movies will come to Netflix due to licensing, but if we could simply augment it by buying our own copies. We'd essentially have a one stop shop. Amazon could very well do this with there prime service...

I am concerned that Vudu is NOT upgrading anything.

It makes me wonder if Walmart is in negotiations to sell the Vudu service to either Amazon or Disney.

If Vudu does not improve its user interface by offering improved and exciting new features, such as SORTING, it will eventually fail.

Selling Vudu to a major entity like amazon or Disney would be a game changer -- hopefully in a very good way for us Vudu users.

Re: Does VUDU care about out suggestions?

That is what I've been saying also...if they don't evolve they will eventually loose their place in the market or be bought out by someone like Netflix or Disney. Of course that may not be a bad thing for us customers.

I guess it's easy for people on the outside to state the obvious...but as customers and movie owners we have a dog in this hunt too.

If VUDU was to fail I wonder what would happen to our investments? I have not really put that much thought in that until now. Now I am wondering if it really makes much sense to buy just digital copies of movies. If VUDU goes away I would loose several movies...just thinking about that ****es me off!

To say we aren't upgrading anything isn't exactly true.

We just implemented closed captioning and are working to make that available on more devices and content.

HDX is now available on Xbox 360

D2D is still new, not to mention UV compatibility.

Pre-Orders at Wal-Mart that allow you an early peak at the special features available on VUDU.

I can guarantee you we take feedback very seriously and are always working to bring more features to the service.

                Forgot to mention Roku Support

Relax, tfisher. Vudu is "too big to fail." That should ease your mind!

What are more people crying about? HDX on 360 or being able to sort their movies alphabetically?

The code for the sort feature is already written because you have it on Xbox and you can sort when you want to browse for stuff you want to buy, are you telling me it's that difficult to implement it into a different page?

Right, because the guys behind the scenes at VUDU aren't working on anything else. If it's something that's "quickly and easy to implement", maybe you should do it yourself.

The CinemaNow app on my iphone and ipad have some sorting options for all the UV movies. It needs more options, but at least it offers something. I really WANT to use Vudu for all my UV movie watching, but I will use CinemanNow or other apps if they continue to offer a better app.

Hopefully the competition will ultimately get Vudu to do something about this!
