Like to see a more than 5 device limit eventually.

I've started using cinemanow on my devices that support it so I didn't have to keep delisting or bringing my vudu devices in the other room. I really don't care for cinemanow though. Would much rather have vudu increase the limit a bit even if it is just one extra device it would help out a lot.

I would also like to see this changed. I don't see why they feel that there should be a limit to the number of devices that can be linked.

I would like to see them open this up so you can link 10 or even 15 devices, but limit to how many devices can stream at a time to only 5.

Vudu may not want you to buy a movie or tv show and then share it with too many friends . With Vudu you can download movie or tv show to the hdd on the PS3, ect and it not count as one of your 3 streams on you Ultra-Violet account.

That is probably why a limit exists. What Netflix does is limit the number of devices streaming at the same time. They don't really care if you have 1 or 100 devices as long as you are not streaming from more than the maximum devices allowed (varies based on your plan). Sometimes this is a pain. If a movie doesn't end properly or if a device disconnects during steaming then it can take about 2 hours before that connection frees up. But again, this is how Netflix does it.

It would be nice if Vudu worked the same way Netflix works. But they don't, and instead of waiting around for them to change you could create yourself an addition UV account and Vudu account. This would double your number of devices to 10.

Likewise I can understand a device limit but I don't see how it can work for a family. I know I'm kind of the exception but me personally I've got Vudu and Flixster running on two Blu-Ray players, an iPhone, an iPad, and and Mac. If they open up Apple TV or I add a laptop I'm screwed. Let alone if my wife want's something on her phone, computer, or we had kids.

Technically you can just add members to your existing UV account (I can have up to 6 total) and then start using those "sub-accounts" to link to new Vudu accounts. This way you could have the same UV content available to all your Vudu accounts.

            ...

In theory, I haven't actually done this.

              Why have limits at all?

If I buy a movie on DVD or Bluray I can play it on as many devices as I want to.

Why do we go backwards in technology?

I for one appreciate your concerns salpower, but please don't sprinkle the same comments across multiple threads...especially when people are subscribed to said threads!

For some reason, Vudu won't even let me add more than 4 devices (?!?). At this point, 5 devices would be an improvement.

Seriously though, allowing and encouraging 30 devices through creating a ton of extra UV accounts is a horrible implementation. This really should be fixed, as more and more devices seem to be coming with Vudu. It would be nice to be able to actually use Vudu on these devices.

In the mean time, I guess I'll be creating new "fake" UV accounts...
