    vudu2go

    Hello,

Not sure if this has been suggested but you really need the following added to your vudu2go app

Sort function (name, date added, etc)
    Search function

I have too many movies/tv shows and its becoming difficult to find things. Not user friendly at all

        Re: vudu2go

In fact, another interesting feature that might be added would be a VUDU2Go Disc2Digital "wishlist" whereby someone could go through their sizeable collection and "recognize discs" all at once, adding them to their "wishlist" (it would store the disc identifier, whether it was DVD or Blu, whether it's currently eligible for UV conversion [x or check mark?], which could maybe change down the road, possibly any "corrective" identification you've made manually thus possibly notifying you when your manually correction gets "recognized" [unrecognized - identified manually as XYZ]). All of these would then go into your "Disc2Digital wishlist," which would just be a holding area for titles you've "recognized" but not yet converted to UV.

Once in the system, it would maybe display "format recognized from," "identified as," "eligible/not eligible at this time," "available conversion definitions & prices," etc. So, this way, maybe you could track what stuff you've got available for conversion and, over time, convert a little bit here, a little bit there as you have a few $$ available for it.

I'd think this would be a handy tool and might even lead to a higher click through of UV conversion purchases. Especially if the end user is encouraged to keep checking back to see if their "manual identifications" have been "accepted" yet, or if 'ineligible' movies get their rights cleared and become newly 'eligible,' or if new "definitions" are available (say, if only SD was available when you recognized a Blu-Ray, but HDX becomes available later). If done well, it could almost be "enjoyable" to see a huge list develop and slowly convert it to UV, over time.

Anyway, my thought here was that this way, one wouldn't have to "recognize" things in small chunks only when one is ready to buy, but could "recognize" as much of their library as they want, and then convert it at their leisure. So, obviously there would need to be an interface between such a wishlist and the "cart." Perhaps each line item's "definition availability/pricing" button would also act as a "radio button" of sorts, and a user could click on which definitions of which titles they want to 'select' (one "definition" sd/hd/hdx per line item/title, but arbitrarily many "titles"), and once one has selected everything on a given page one wants to add to the cart, one clicks "add to cart" and all those titles at the specified definitions and conversion prices get added to the cart? And maybe on the wishlist/selection page it could also have s couple running totals (one for the items/definitions selected and one for the cart total if those items are added)? Just so one knows appx how much the $$ damage will be when they click "add to cart"?

Now, one wonders lightly whether the system (this system, or the system in general) would be abusable, for instance via disc rental services like RedBox, Blockbuster kiosks or NetFlix disc-by-mail services. That is, can the same disc that many people can rent cheaply, be "recognized multiple times" by things like VUDU2Go? Or is that kind gray area already factored into the prices or functionality of the system? Not that I'm suggesting anyone should try it, for fear of having their account terminated and losing their entire collection... Just wondering. Can discs be identified individually or is a disc is a disc is a disc and they're all 100% interchangeable with no way of knowing if this specific physical copy or the other has already been used?

        Just a thought...

Re: vudu2go -- CLEAR SOUND QUALITY IDENTIFICATION PRIOR TO PURCHASE

          Hi,

You also need to make the quality of the digital file's features that is being considered for purchase more clear prior to the purchase being consumated when using the Disc-To-Digital-Home feature that is included in the Vudu-2-Go program. At the moment, the buyer can only tell if they are buying SD, HD, or HDX. Unfortunately, the sound quality of all of the files aren't good multi-channel surround sound recordings even in cases where multi-channel is available on lower quality DVDs. It needs to be clear prior to purchase if the file being bought is stereo, surround 5.1, or surround 7.1.

          Thanks,
          Matt

I am definitely for all of the "wishlist" features you brought up. We can only hope they are working on this.

On the subject of rental dvds. I'm not sure how it is for older ones, but I know a few newer ones that I've gotten from Redbox come marked as "Rental". Obviously, I've never tried to use one of these on D2D, but I do wonder if the rental versions show up as such in V2G and whether the software allows you to still use them. Might have to get an answer from Vudu on that.
