UV UHD Serious Concerns - UV Shutdown & Vudu

Im getting real concerned with the UHD part of the UV shutdown.

Ive got over 100 UHD titles on my Kaleidescape that aren?t available with Vudu. The UHD UV rights have started showing up in the UV website, but for a good chunk of them Vudu doesn?t have them available in UHD so the additions to my Vudu purchase history that I see today are just coming in as HD.

So if you have UHD rights in UV but it?s not available in UHD on Vudu at point of shutdown are we locked in to whatever it is at that time with a Vudu.?

Or is Vudu going to maintain the UHD rights in the background and when (or if) Vudu gets UHD then will we have access to it in UHD?

I can can see this shutdown going sideways real easy. So far Ive been able to watch these titles in UHD with Kaleidescape, but their not available elsewhere. UV is getting updated with UHD rights. And purchase history is being reflected in Vudu as it gets added to UV. But its being added as UHD & HD in UV but Vudu is only reflecting the HD. Im sure this has something to do with Vudu not having it in UHD. But once UV is down those UHD rights need to be there with Vudu.

I have a feel we will be stuck with whatever quality Vudu has at the time UV shuts down, which if true, is going to upset a lot of people, and rightfully so!

This is a very unfortunate suspicion that I suspect as well. I am hoping we are wrong and post UV world has all things worked out.

I'm sure there's reasons but I don't see why if UV has a movie code and a quality codes can't just bring the whole thing in, similar to have they do now. But if and when that intersection of title and quality become available the approval is already in our account.

No no one is really laying out what the specifics are going to be. That must be settled by now. The shutdown really is not far away.

I contacted a competitor of VUDU about some issues I have with content porting in there and was told that whatever ports in from UV is all we get. If there is aa mismath, it will notnbe reaolved. Basically a polite sorry we cant help at all and blamed UV. Yet UV won't help and only sends me to that provider.

So basically I am very happy VUDU helps as much as they do. I realize they are not fixing everything (yet) but at least some things are fixed. Unlike the competition who basically says sorry you are outta luck.
