Re: Did anyone tell Walmart Stores about this?!
Looks like they still are not training the employee's.
I went in to my local Walmart with a hand full of DVD's to have converted. I went to the photo department and told the two ladies working there that I wanted to do the Vudu Disc to Digital. They responded with "Vudu What? I have never heard of that". I then pointed at the 6 foot tall cardboard display next to their register that said Vudu disc to digital and to bring in your DVD's. They then responded with, "Ohh, that thing we have never done before, wait here for a minute" They then went behind the counter and started reading some papers in a grey binder. After about 10 minutes they took their binder over to the computer they had behind the counter and attempted to do something on it. They then said that the photo center closed in 1 hour and they would not have time to process the 10 DVD's in time. They told me I could leave the DVD's with them and pick them up tomorrow or just come back tomorrow with the DVD's. (No I did not leave my DVD's with them).
I knew they were just giving me some BS because they didnt know how to do it. I was not in a rush to have it done so a week had passed before I returned for another try at the disc to digital. Same employee's were their when I came back. They still did not know how to do it and pulled out the grey binder again. After about 30 minutes I was told that they were going to call someone because they needed a password for vudu. I said fine go ahead. After another hour they said sorry but we don't have the password to do vudu disc to digital, we will have to email corporate and have them send us the password. At that point I asked to see a manager, I spent 30-45 minutes talking with three separate assistant managers who all said there was nothing they could do other than email corporate and hope they get a response with the password.
This time I waited another two weeks, I then called into the store before making the trip and asked for the photo department. After being passed around to 4 other departments I finally got the photo department and asked if they could do the Vudu Disc to Digital. The lady responded with "No I'm sorry but the Vudu system is down and we cant process any movies right now". I then asked is the service really down or do you guys just not know the password? She then said "We don't have the password for Vudu so we cant do it" She then said that I should make a trip to the Walmart that is over an hour drive away because they do it.
Those who have gotten the disc to digital at their local Walmart should get some sort of prize or award that lets everyone know that they managed to get movies converted at a local Walmart. I've converted around 150 movies with the in home disc to digital already, but a lot of the movies I really like would not work with the in home conversion and told me to take them in to a Walmart.
